Water Conservation; Water Erosion; Flooding and Prevention

Photograph of overhead water that has caused severe erosion in the nature drain on this farm. It will be shaped into a waterway and sprigged to bermuda grass. When the grass becomes established it will also serve as outlets for terraces to be constructed later. OK-1224-5.

Grass, Legume and Forb Cultivation

Inundation Studies

Location-southesat of Lake Chickasha; Sec. 22, R9W, T8N, Soil-Reddish Prairie, virgin rangeland, Noble loam, slope 7%, erosion 1, Class IV. This study is in response to SCS research needs. Work is under the supervision of Edd D. Rhoades, Agricultural Engineer, ARS-SWC.
