North Texas State University has recently received a planning grant from the Getty Center for Education in the Arts, an operating program of the J. Paul Getty Trust, to plan for the establishment of North Texas Regional Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts "North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts,". Hurley writes that they appreciated Wright's support in obtaining the planning grant, and would like to invite Wright to be a guest for lunch and an executive briefing on the project at the Pinnacle Club, Interfirst Bank Building, June 17, 1987.

Photocopy of a letter from Jack Davis, Vice Provost of North Texas State University, to Linus Wright, Superintendent for Dallas ISD. Davis is happy to share with Wright a copy of a letter to the Getty Center for Education in the Arts for the North Texas Regional Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, "North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts" (NTIEVA), which has been funded. Davis writes that they will begin work immediately to get the steering committee organized and to get the first conference meeting going. Davis ends the letter saying that with Wright, he is confidence that can put together a successful proposal for an implementation grant.

Letter from Angel Z. Fraga to Dr. Tom Kreneck at the Houston Metropolitan Research Center dated June 1, 1987, on letterhead. The letter indicates that Fraga has forwarded a copy of a speech by John J. Herrera. The enclosed speech was given on June 22, 1975, at the first anniversary of the three Hispanic City Judges appointed by Mayor Hofheinz. The enclosure also includes copies of four photographs with captions of the event.

The memo is in regards to the trustees of the J. Paul Getty approving the Center's fiscal year 1990 budget which begins on July 1, 1989. Alford has given Hendrick an outlined suggestion for improving the elementary art program, based on research even the best staff development programs do not effect change unless there is follow up and continuous support, therefore their plans call for the addition of certified art teachers. Enclosed with the letter are abstracts about the improving the program. At the bottom of the cover page a scribbled note reads, "Jack, this is the packet that has been written for the board, Lynda."

Norton at the U.S. Department of Justice to the co-chairs of the Sixth International Conference on AIDS, Paul Volberding and John Ziegler, in response to their previous correspondence. The letter addresses the inability of Henry Wilson and Knud Josephsen to enter the United States for the conference and explains that their medical status (as HIV-infected individuals) was not a factor in denying them admission.
