The memo is in regards to the trustees of the J. Paul Getty approving the Center's fiscal year 1990 budget which begins on July 1, 1989. Alford has given Hendrick an outlined suggestion for improving the elementary art program, based on research even the best staff development programs do not effect change unless there is follow up and continuous support, therefore their plans call for the addition of certified art teachers. Enclosed with the letter are abstracts about the improving the program. At the bottom of the cover page a scribbled note reads, "Jack, this is the packet that has been written for the board, Lynda."

Letter from Richard E. Norton at the U.S. Department of Justice to the co-chairs of the Sixth International Conference on AIDS, Paul Volberding and John Ziegler, in response to their previous correspondence. The letter addresses the inability of Henry Wilson and Knud Josephsen to enter the United States for the conference and explains that their medical status (as HIV-infected individuals) was not a factor in denying them admission.
