[Dallas black living legends 1992/1993 awards ceremony and presentation]
Video footage from The Black Academy of Arts and Letters recorded during the 1992 "Dallas' Black Living Legends" award ceremony. Living Legends is an exhibition project started in 1987 by JBAAL to photograph and honor black historical figures of Dallas. Awarded across twenty-one categories ranging from the arts, sciences law, politics, religion, and technology. The video begins with the performance by a choir followed by a reverend speaker who concludes at the 24:00 minute mark. The next speaker roll calls the names from 1987 and 1991 and concludes with 1992s' honorees.
