Video footage from The Black Academy of Arts and Letters recorded during the eighth annual Black Music and the Civil Rights Movement Concert in 1991. The concert featured Cissy Houston and choir and was held at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas Texas. The videotape shows the last 10 minutes of the concert and opens with a speaker addressing the audience followed by a rousing speech that ends in applause. The video then records a close-up of the front row of the choir as members disband and walk off stage.

The footage records the entire two hour concert featuring a 200-voice choir and Vickie Winans (appears in a pink suit). Speakers at the opening of the concert explain the focus of the music to be prayer, progress, and triumph. The performers wear all black clothing with a white noose hanging around their necks.

The video begins with the performance by a choir followed by a reverend speaker who concludes at the 24:00 minute mark. The next speaker roll calls the names from 1987 and 1991 and concludes with 1992s' honorees.
