Pulse Amplifiers Using Transistor Circuits
From Introduction: "The high frequency response remains important even when pulse shaping is introduced. Pulse shaping is used to improve the time resolution of the system, to minimize overload distortion, or to facilitate the action of discriminating and recording circuits. The amplifier response may be optimized by such shaping, but in general the overall characteristics will be fixed by the particular detector system."

From the summary: "Certain source data and results of analysis pertinent to 1,575 gas samples, which have been obtained from 26 States, Alaska, and Canada (only a few from the latter 2 regions) and analyzed in connection with the helium-survey program of the Bureau of Mines, are presented in tabular form. This publication is supplementary to Bulletin 486 of the Bureau of Mines. Samples analyzed from late 1947 to around May 1956 are included in this bulletin and augment the samples reported in Bulletin 486" (p. 1).

From Development of Improved Electron Optics For the 16 Inch Multiplier Phototube: "In order to derive a more efficient electrostatic optical system to be used in conjunction with a large area, 16 inch diameter multiplier phototube the following analysis has been made. This analysis is based on a similar optical system which is to be used in the design of a 16 inch diameter image convertor. At the end on the minifier, we reached the conclusion that the relaxation method constituted the best approach to the solution of the boundary value potential problem inside an axisymmetrical image convertor."

Aerodynamic Characteristics of a 45 Degree Swept Wing Fighter Airplane Model and Aerodynamic Loads on Adjacent Stores and Missiles at Mach Numbers of 1.57, 1.87, 2.16, and 2.53
Report discussing tests to determine the aerodynamic characteristics of a model of a 45 degree swept-wing fighter airplane and to determine the loads on attached stores and detached missiles. An investigation into aileron-spoiler effectiveness, aileron hinge moments, and the effects of wing modifications of aerodynamic characteristics was also carried out at various Mach numbers. Results are presented, but caution is provided in regards to extrapolating results from the model onto a full-scale aircraft.

A Preliminary Investigation of the Performance of a Short Length Turbojet Combustor Using Vaporized Hydrocarbon Fuels
"Two short turbojet combustors designed for use with vaporized hydrocarbon fuels were tested in a one-quarter annular duct. The experimental combustors consisted of many small "swirl-can" combustor elements manifolded together. This design approach allowed the secondary mixing zone to be considerably reduced over that of conventional combustors" (p. 1).
