A report regarding development drilling on the Vanadium Queen group of claims, La Sal Creek area, Paradox district, San Juan County, Utah. Concerns work done on behalf of the Division of Raw Materials of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.

Abstract: On March 7, 1953, after approximately three and one-half months, investigational drilling in the North Point No. 6 and Horn channels was completed.

From abstract: The purpose of this preliminary electrical resistivity investigation of Holiday Mesa, Monument Valley region, San Juan County, Utah, was to determine the feasibility of a detailed survey to delineate channels cut into the Moenkopi formation and filled with sediments of Shinarump conglomerate. These structures are in many places related to the localization of uranium ore.

This report summarizes the results of this exploration and outlines the general plans for additional exploration, all of which is being done on behalf of the division of Raw materials of the US Atomic Energy Commission.

Abstract: The uranium occurrences near Goodsprings, Clark Co., Nevada, are divided into two distinct types which differ from each other in geographic distribution, localization of mineralization, mineralogy and origin. None of the known deposits is of present commercial significance and therefore this study emphasizes the genetic rather than the economic aspects.

From abstract: Elk Ridge is in southeastern Utah in the central part of San Juan County. It forms a conspicuous ridge on the north end of the Monument upwarp. During the summer of 1953 field work was largely restricted to South Elk Ridge, that part of Elk Ridge which is south of The Notch. Permian and Triassic sedimentary rocks crop out in the area and Jurassic and Cretaceous rocks are exposed east of the area.

This report gives preliminary results of detailed mapping done during the 1952 field season, summarizes habits of the uranium deposits, and presents guides that may be useful in exploring for additional deposits.

A report regarding recommendations for exploration in Burch Canyon, Elk Ridge, San Juan County, Utah

Introduction: Under a contract between the United States Atomic Energy Commission and the University of Utah the writer has been investigating the sedimentary relations of the uranium deposits of the Salt Wash sandstone in the Colorado Plateau.
