Patent for a combined tablet, copy, and bill holder meant to hold "file-pins in their operative and inoperative positions, to provide simple and improved means whereby a tablet or bills may be covered when not in use or when carrying the device, to protect the same from dirt, &c. and, furthermore, to provide improved means for supporting the holder in position for transcribing" (lines 12-18).

Patent for a "device for indicating at railroad crossings and other points, the approach or departure of trains within any given distance of such crossing or with relation to any point where persons might come into dangerous proximity to the train if they were left unadvised by some such signal as this." Patent for an umbrella-stand. It is meant to display umbrellas, parasols, walking-canes, etc. The frame is made from tubing secured by wire, a channeled plate along the sides of the frame, and the base is adapted to support umbrella tips.

Patent for a railway-tricycle that consists "of a frame carrying a front and rear wheel, a cross-bar mounted to swing on the said frame and carrying a guide-wheel for the second rail, and a handle-bar connected with the said cross-bar to manipulate the latter" (line 14-19).

Patent for whiffletree-hook that provides "a novel device of this character in which it is impossible for the trace ring or link to become accidentally detached, but which may be readily removed or disengaged from the hook when desired" (lines 15-20). The invention has a flattened circular plate.

Patent for a shipping case that has an improved means for fastening the case. Air circulates freely and is especially designed to ship eggs, fruit, and other perishable things, although it can ship general things as well.

Patent for a rotary steam-engine that provides "a new and useful machine of this character wherein a head or pressure of steam shall be utilized to its fullest extent with a consequent increase in power over other engines worked under the same head or pressure of steam. To this end the main and primary object of the present invention is to provide a simple, economical and durable steam engine of the rotary type having few working parts, but one which shall run easily and steadily and will develop considerable power" (lines 9-19).

Patent for a railway-bicycle that travels on one rail and needs two wheels with connecting frames. It has a forward double flanged wheel and a wheel behind the first wheel, and this machine is faster and lighter than other similar machines.

Patent for an ox-yoke key that holds the bows in place. The key makes movement easy because of a swinging plate. "By this arrangement the plate may be swung so as to move the key away from the bow, and so as to move it toward the same; and in operation of advancing and retracting the key, the plate swings in the manner described abode" (lines 20-25).

Patent for "an improved construction for draft attachments whereby we may dispense with the action of the ordinary doubletree or evener and throw the draft of each animal directly upon the axle-clips or fixed point of attachment on its side of the axle, thereby causing the draft of each animal to be independent of the other and avoid the tendency of the stronger, or in starting the quicker animal, pulling the weaker or slower animal backward and to one side of the line of draft."
