Trace Carrier.

Patent for a new and improved trace-carrier. This design consists in "[a] back-band hook comprising a buckle provided with a lower cross-bar constructed of two parts having their inner adjacent ends terminating in depending hooks arranged parallel with each other and separated by a space and provided with inwardly-projecting ends partially closing the mouths of the hooks, the swinging hooks arranged in the space between the parallel hooks" (lines 90-98).

Sweep Plow. (open access)

Sweep Plow.

Patent for a new and improved sweep-plow. This design is "to provide a sweep-plow especially adapted for the cultivation of cotton and to so construct the same that the blades or wings thereof may be adjusted for the purpose of plowing between rows of various widths" (lines 8-13). It consists, "with the sweep curved in cross-section to form the central shovel-receiving seat, which is slotted opposite the rearwardly-disposed triangular sides or flanges, which latter are perforated near their lower ends and provided with their upper ends with curved slots, with which the perforations are concentric" (lines 55-62).
