Patent for a car-replacer that is meant to "provide a strong and compact skid of comparatively light weight to form the body portion of the car-replacer and which shall be especially adapted to raise the car-wheels above the track, deflect toward them toward the rails until the tread of the wheels is suspended over the ball of the rails from an inclined surface terminating in a rounded end, over which the wheels move until they meet the track" (lines 12-21). The car-replacer does not have any liability of the skid tilting endwise or sidewise.

Patent for an improved combined corn and cotton planters that "effectively carr[ies] out the duplex functions of planters of this class, which will possess advantages in point of simplicity, durability, effectiveness, and general efficiency" (lines 11-14).

Patent for improvements in baling-presses by using a four-sided baling box/chamber with supporting-upright doors arranged at the top, at the front and one of the sides of the box. These doors can be hinged at diagonally-opposite corners of the box; locking-bolts are pivoted at the free end of the each door, the top door with locking-bar sliding through apertures in the uprights and the lever for operating the top door. Patent for the "improvements in cotton-baling apparatus or compresses of that type in which the cotton is received directly from the gin or gins" (lines 13-16) including illustrations.

Patent for an upright cylindrical cistern made from sheet-metal. This patent "consists in the application to and around the upper open end of the cistern and also if desired at different places around the body of the cistern, of a strengthening ring made of either wrought iron or steel or other suitable metal tubing or piping, to stiffen the cylindrical cistern, said piping or tubing being suitably fastened to the cistern and being arranged around the outside or inside of the same, but preferably around the outside and closely hugging said cistern" (lines 10-20).

Patent for a car-replacer that has a stronger construction and is more efficient than other car-replacers. It has two skids, one on each side of the rail, the inside skid meant to deflect car-wheels to the rail, and the outside skid meant to slu "the truck in line with the track, and at the same time cause the wheels to be forced sideways on the rails" (lines 27-29).

Patent for "improvements in that class of topical remedies which are compounded for the purpose of relieving rheumatism, neuralgia, gout, toothache, sprains, swellings, bruises, sores, and similar afflictions. . .To these I add cotton-seed oil in sufficient quantity to make one quart of the medicine, the root and bark of the trumpet flower and the root of the pokeberry being boiled in the latter and the ammonia and turpentine being added on the cooling of the mixture" (lines 11-16, 31-37).

The object of [the] invention is to obviate the defects referred to . . . whereby pulverized poisons may be rapidly ejected, not directly upon the plants, but mainly into the surrounding atmosphere. . . . and produce the desired effect upon every object within a wide range" (lines 14-44).
