This design consists in "the combination of a cylindrical body of elongated form and obliquely arranged and having slots in the upper part thereof to form bars, a central top slot between said bars, and a lower bar having a recess therein, an obliquely-inclined spring-latch extending across one of the open ends of said body, the back-band having a strap to pass around said body, and a girth-strap connected to said lower recessed bar" (lines 13-22).

Patent for improvements in hoes, the inventor designed the handle of the hoe to carry two shanks; the shanks diverging form the handle and bent to be parallel with each other. A connecting-rod at the end of two shanks is being threaded and provided with locking-nuts, which used to secure the hoe blades. The hoe blades can be adjusted laterally. Illustration is included.

Patent for a machine that is meant to file circular saws. The invention files "saws while mounted side-by side upon a saw arbor, as cotton gin saws usually are; means for moving the file carriage along upon the frame of the machine to locate it in front of the individual saws which are to be filed; means for raising and carrying the file over the saws when the carriage is to be moved; means for securing the file sash on the file carriage and of securing the file carriage upon the main frame by a single act; and means for converting a continuous rotary feed motion of the saws while being filed, to an intermittent motion which rotates the saws step-by-step from tooth to tooth" (lines 15-28).

Patent for simple, efficient, and reliable "a governor for regulating the quantity of seed cotton which is delivered to one or more feeders or gins by a seed-cotton handling apparatus" (lines 13-16). The operator sets the amount of cotton being sent through the gin. The invention has a receiver of a cotton handling mechanism, another mechanism that cuts off the supply of cotton after a desired amount has passed, and the invention can easily be started again after the gin is emptied.

It further consists in "slides arranged in . . . recesses and adapted to vary the size of said openings, strips arranged on the outer edges of the inclined bars, and set-screws connecting the strips" (lines 3-7).
