Hoisting Drum
Patent for improvements to hoisting drums for use in drilling oil, gas, and water wells, with the object being "to employ a plurality of hoisting drums upon the same shaft so that the cable may be wound partly on one drum and partly on another" (lines 73-76) such that the danger of cable cutting is decreased and the speed of operation is increased, including illustrations.
