Patent for a stump puller consisting of a "frame adapted to be secured to the rear end of a wagon" (lines 15-16) with a drum mounted on the frame. The drum is secured by one end of a cable, the other end of the cable "adapted to be secured to a stump, a ratchet-wheel, pawl, and lever adapted to operate said drum" (lines 18-20).
