Patent for a mattress-making machine that presses the material and forces it into a mattress. The mattress is "suitably held at one end of the machine, guide-strips being provided to hold the material forming the filling for the mattress straight and smooth while being forced into the tick" (lines 19-23).

Non-Refilling Bottle.
Patent for a non-refilling bottle that has a groove in its neck, a spring that fits in the groove, and a keeper that fits in the bottle opening and keeps the spring in place. The cork fits inside the keeper, thus sealing the bottle. A wire goes through the cork and the keeper, and is twisted together above the cork; when pulled, the bottle can be opened.

Patent for an improvement on a quilting attachment for sewing-machines previously granted to the inventors (no. 529,518). This patent is an improvement on "the general construction of the device, to provide simple means for adjusting the elevation of the track at its extremities to vary the inclination thereof and for securing the upper ends of the supporting devices to a stationary object, such as the ceiling, and to provide means for adjusting the inclination of the traveler-bar of the hanger to suit that of the track" (lines 14-23).

Patent for a reaping-machine that has grooved rollers spread throughout a recess in the base, slides where the rollers are mounted, horizontal movable shafts with pinions, racks on the slides that engage the pinions, a ring-driver wheel that surrounds the rollers and fits in the rollers with interior flanges, cutters, a belt extending from the rollers to the mechanism that operates the cutters, and a belt that connects the rolls. The cutter is a series of knives on a bar and springs that prevents the cutter from moving independently.
