Patent for a simple and inexpensive car-coupling that improves on the pin-and-link car-couplings and "will be capable of coupling automatically and which may be readily uncoupled without going between cars" (lines 13-15). After the car has been separated, this coupling automatically puts its parts in position to be re-coupled. It also enables a "flying kick" to be transmitted to the car.

Patent for a wheel-cultivator that attaches to planters or plows. It provides "means whereby a planter or a plow-beam carrying any desired cultivating implement can be attached to the frame of a riding or wheel cultivator frame, and thus enable the cultivator-frame to be applied to uses other than that for which it was intended" (lines 25-30).

Patent for a device to register fares in situations where passengers pay to be transported from one location to another, specifically by train. The fare-collector needs a way to have accurate receipts as fares are collected. The invention is a "small portable ticket-holder and registering device (lines 38-39), that issues valid tickets "which will enable a conductor to keep a correct current amount of fares as received as well as a record of tickets sold and mileage traveled on same" (lines 41-45), and prevents dishonesty in fare-collectors.

Patent for a simple and inexpensive wire-stretcher and reel-carrier, meant to make wire needed for fences easier to be ready at the builder's disposal and to stretch the wire to the correct amount of tension.

Patent for a steam-engine that has "no dead-center" (lines 15-16), and "a volume of one full port will always be exerted on a piston" (lines 18-19). "The full power of the steam will be applied when the crank is on the quarter and there is the greatest leverage in favor of the engine" (lines 21-24). Steam supply is regulated automatically and has a shutoff system in case anything breaks.

Patent for "an improved method of reducing gold and silver ores and recovering their metals." (Lines 10-11) Includes instructions and illustrations.

Patent for an expansible coupling-bolt designed to not rattle and to "provide a simple but effective means for taking up the play between the coupling-pin in the lug-bearings" (lines 17-20).

Patent for a printing attachment for letter-boxes where people can postmark the mail they want to be sent. It fist on any street letter-box. The attachment is a case with stamps for every day of the month and the location of the town, city, or post-office the letter is being collected to, and there is a pocket below where one slips the package or envelope to mark it. An inking-pad is also in the pocket for the stamps, which can be used by pulling a lever.

Patent for a plow attachment that guides and aids the plow, and regulates "the depth at which the plow or cultivator shovel shall run in the ground" (lines 13-15).

Patent for a stock-guard meant for use in railway-tracks. It has many beveled caps, "each having a flange or projection on one side, and adapted to fit over the cross-ties" (lines 46-18). There are also slats, each with a flange on its upper edge, and the slats are arranged between the caps.

Patent for a gate that relates to a patent (no. 363,964) granted to the inventor, which is a gate opener that operates by pulling a chord connected to a mechanism that swings the gate open and closes upon release. The current patent simplifies the previous invention. The operator pulls a chord which makes the gate swivel on a central point. When the chord is released, the gate swivels back into place.

Patent for an ironing-table that can be folded compactly while not in use and prevents accidental collapsing. The two legs at the narrower end of the table are a solid piece of wood until halfway, at which point they separate into separate legs and a fastening device is attached with a hinge. A brace can be attached with the fastening device that both sets of table legs in place. Both sets of legs and the brace fold up for storage.

Patent for a durable, simple, and inexpensive riding-saddle. The seat, front, rear, and middle jockeys and cantle are made form one piece of leather. The rear quarter is laced to the cantle, and the saddle has a bag for storing articles during travel.

Patent for a "combined desk and cabinet especially designed for students' use to obviate the scattering about of books when writing, studying, or making reference thereto" (lines 8-12). The are two rotating sections: a many-faced book-rest, and a cabinet above it where books can be stored. There is also a sliding writing-board underneath the desk.

Patent for a simply-constructed rotary, steam-powered engine that minimizes friction and noise, and for which wear is automatically compensated. It is "capable of running at a very low or high speed without subjecting the parts to any unusual strains or wear" (lines 16-18). One lever controls the steam supply and can reverse the movement of the engine cutting off.

Patent for improvements in rotary pneumatic toys, "which can be carried by a child and caused to rotate by the action of the air when the toy is carried rapidly or if the air is violently circulated" (lines 11-15) including illustrations.

Patent for rail-joints that are a "firm and secure support for the abutting ends of rails to maintain their treads in the same horizontal plane and prevent them from being mashed down at the ends" (lines 13-17). This makes train passengers more comfortable and lengthens the rail's and the fish-plates' lives, and makes fish-plates more stable.

Patent for "improvements in plumbing systems whereby the service-pipes will automatically drain themselves when a sufficiently low temperature is reached to congeal the water contained therein, thereby obviating frozen pipes and the resultant damage incident thereto." Patent for a plow that has a revolving moldboard and the driving-wheel can be adjusted "relative to both the plowshare and moldboard" (lines 21-22). The moldboard is unique in how it is supported and operated. This patent is similar to a previous patent (no. 549,827) which was also granted to the inventor.

Patent for an improvement on a previous patent granted to the inventor (no. 526,962)for a disk cultivator. The improvement is that "the disks are supported at any point on the under side of the disk-frame and in means whereby the disk-supporting frame may be elevated from the ground" (lines 16-19).

Patent for a suspended wood panel fence with "advantages in point of simplicity, inexpensiveness, ease of construction, adaptability, effectiveness, and general efficiency" (lines 11-13). It improves on patents held by J. S. Ferguson, W. A. Tillman, W. T. Manry, and others. The fence panels are suspended between the posts by wires. The wires extend to the bottom of the fence panel's braces at either end of the panel.

Patent for improving the cultivator-plow by providing "a standard of novel construction comprising a stationary member bolted to the beam and a foot member having a pivotal relation with said stationary member and capable of being adjusted as to its angle, and also capable of yielding backwardly when the shovel meets with an obstruction for the purpose of preventing the fracture or twisting of said standard." Patent for a sack laborers drag around the fields with them to store cotton in. It has a shoulder-strap that fits around the sack's mouth. There are two wheels, and a platform is attached to the axle. The sack is strapped to the platform.
