Patent for a cotton-chopper attachment for cultivators. It can fit to any cultivator with some modification. It is a wheel that rides "upon the row and presses down into the ground parts of the cotton in the row, leaving the other standing, and of the necessary mechanism for attaching and controlling said wheel" (lines 20-24).

Patent for a coffee-roaster for family use, and the roasting-cylinder may be rotated automatically or manually. A pendulum swinging below the table attached to a ratchet is how the cylinder can automatically rotated.

Patent for a bicycle-holder that holds the bicycle upright. It consists of "a pair of plates clamped upon a portion of the frame of a bicycle, two pairs of ears formed integral with and depending from said plates, one pair of ears being formed convcavo-convex to form a socket between them and constructed with semicircular notches in their lower edges, a rod having a ball or spherical body on its upper end that is located and held for movement in the so formed socket, a lug formed integral with the lower end of one of the remaining pair of ears, and an arm pivoted between said remaining pair of ears, said arm having a bifurcated lower end that engages the rim or tire of the front wheel of the bicycle" (lines 40-54).

Patent for a cotton-harvester meant to pick the ripe cotton but leaves the plants or unripe cotton and to improve the construction of cotton-harvesters.

Patent for a wrench "that a great number of tools [screw-driver, hammer, hatchet, auger, etc.] may be mounted thereon at one time and each accessible for use without removing any one part and without the various parts mounted thereon interfering with each other." Patent for a simple and efficient well-drilling machine that is meant for drilling Artesian and other wells. This invention is a "mechanism for reciprocating and turning the tool during the drilling operation, and to provide for the lowering of the drill as the latter advances to the work and for the withdrawal of the same from the well when required for any desired purpose" (lines 8-15). It is also designed to remove water, mud, slush, etc. from the well while drilling.

Patent for "an improvement in log-car attachments, and has for its object to provide, in connection with the bolsters or bunks thereof, adjustable pins or standards for engaging the lower tier of logs and preventing their escape." (Lines 8-13) Includes instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a well-drilling apparatus for boring Artesian and other wells. It is meant to "provide simple, efficient, and durable means for expanding or spreading the reamer-blades after the bit-carrying devices have been lowered sufficiently to arrange the reamer-blades below the plane of the lower end of the tubular drill-rod" (lines 10-17). Water pressure is also used to remove the cuttings from the boring-blades. Sections of cable that suspend and lower drill-bit carrying parts into the drill-rod are supported, and sections of drill-rod can be attached and added to the drill-rod. The method of securing the reamer-blades to the reamer-stock is improved with this patent. The parts fit snugly together and prevent water from getting into the drill-rod.

Patent for a machine for making tablets. This patent describes improvements in tablet-making machines or molds, which will be simple in construction and which will make tablets of different sizes, there being provided plates which are perforated and of different sizes whereby the thickness which it is desired to mold the tablets may be regulated.

Patent for a walking seed-planter. It has a frame, a supporting-wheel between two beams of the frame, a seed-slide with forwardly-projecting arms and blocks that are engaged by cams, a hopper that overlies the seed-slide, springs attached to the hopper and the seed-slide that return the slide to its usual position, a pin that limits the seed-slide's movement, shovels on the frame, a seed-spout, a bolt that holds the frame together, and brace-rods.

Patent for a knee-pad used while picking cotton, berries, or gardening. It protects the knee from dampness, stones, roots, etc. The pad goes on the knee, and two wooden braces are on the sides. A strap goes around the user's shoe, and the bolts were the pad is attached to the braces also has string where the operator ties the brace to himself.

Patent for a train-marker and engine signal-lamp meant to "provide a lamp in which the light may be differently colored and the change of color may be effected in an expeditious and convenient manner without the necessity of opening the lamp" (lines 10-14). It also provides "a guard or slide, whereby the opening through which the adjusting device passes may be closed, so as to prevent the wind from entering the body of the lamp and interfering with the flame" (lines 15-20). The lamp is meant for railroads and has two or more lenses, and is durably and inexpensively constructed. One color of light can be shown from the front and back and another from the sides.

Patent for an antirattling attachment for thill-couplings or thill-irons. It can attach to any axle and any thill, and causes the device to put constant pressure on the eye of the thill-iron. This prevents rattling where the iron is connected with the axel-clip and puts tension on the front of the thill-iron in a rearward direction. This tension balances the shafts and thills when the horse is attached to the thill. When the horse is unattached, the thill is held in an upright position by the attachment.

Patent for a storage-condenser and lint-cotton conveyor. It forms lint-cotton into a bat so it can be delivered to a baling machine. with this invention, "a battery or batteries of gins can continuously discharge lint-cotton to a mechanism for conveying the same to a point in juxtaposition to cotton baling or pressing mechanism, and the necessity of stopping the gins during the time the bale is being tied, where a single press-box, or single pressing mechanism is used, is avoided, thus enabling the gins to continuously operate even when a single press-box or single baling or pressing mechanism is employed" (lines 18-28). Lint-cotton discharged from a gin is stored while a bale is being tied or pressed, and the bat the lint-cotton conveyor produces is even so the density of the bale is even. Air can escape from the bat-forming apparatus, eliminating dust from the cotton.

Patent for a horse-detaching device that attaches to the forward axle of a vehicle. The invention will not affect the seating capacity of the vehicle, and can be used to release the thills of the vehicle quickly if the driver loses control of the horse. The device can be used to guide the vehicle after the horse is released.

Patent for "quilting-frame attachments for sewing-machines, and has for its object the provision of a device which can be readily applied to any sewing-machine without marring or disfiguring the top thereof, and which will not overbalance the machine when quilting a large-sized bed-covering, and which can be easily detached and stored in a small compass so as to occupy a minimum amount of room when not required for use."
