The machine consists of two movable members, "one of which carries all of the male and the other all of the female dies, said members being so related that when moved relatively to each other in one direction all the male dies move as a single member...and enter the female dies, and when moved in the opposite direction all of said male dies are withdrawn" (lines 12-20).

Patent for a crate for shipping bananas that does not hurt the fruit during shipping. The crate separates the bunches so the bananas do not get crushed, and the crate is ventilated to prevent decay.

Patent for a combined cigar-clipper and match-box "in which the matches will be delivered with a regular feed, so that it will be highly inconvenient for persons to carry away more than one or two matches" (lines 10-13).

Patent for a fastening-device for fence-runners that is a staple and tie-wire in one. The device will not be drawn or displaced regardless of its placement in relationship to the runner.

Patent for a device for replacing the inner tubes of pneumatic tires, designed especially for bicycle tires. The device "will take hold of the end of the inner tube without liability of cutting it, and that will grip it with a degree of tightness proportionate to the amount of force required to pull it through the outer casing" (lines 41-45). This is easier than previous methods of replacing inner tubes.

Patent for a journal-bearing that has an open spring ring that contains the journal and antifriciton devices in its center. The spring ring contracts to its minimum circumference when the journal and antifriciton devices are worn out. There is also a bearing-ring seat that allows contractions "without altering the disposition of the load" (lines 61-62).
