Patent for a new and improved filter. This design "consist[s] of the receptacle having the receiving, settling, and filtering chambers, in the bottom of which filtering chamber are formed transverse wedge-shaped ridges, and at the bottoms of the settling, receiving, and filtering chambers and of the basin are arranged outlet pipes, which receiving, settling, and filtering chambers are separated from one another by walls or partitions of successively varying or lesser heights, and which basin is arranged lower than the filtering chamber, together with a branched supply pipe" (lines 16-27).

Patent for a new and improved truss. This design consists in "the body-band consisting of a front piece adapted to fit around the abdomen, and a wire attached to each end of said front piece, shaped to conform to the body and spread apart to receive and rest upon the hip-bone, and straps secured to the opposite ends of said wires for fastening the band in place" (lines 43-50).

Patent for a new and improved money clip. This design consists in "[a] band for packages provided with tongues projecting toward each other and an elastic, whereby when the band is in use the tongues will project in opposite directions to receive the elastic" (lines 57-61).

Patent for a new and improved copy-holder. This design "is [for] an improved copy-holder intended especially for holding deeds when being transcribed to the records, and seeks to provide a simple, inexpensive construction by which the deed may be held and to and from which the deed or other paper may be adjusted without difficulty, such construction serving also to mark or indicate the particular line of the paper being copied" (lines 7-15).

Patent for a new and improved vehicle roof. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the rabbeted vehicle-top-supporting bows, of strips mounted in said rabbets and provided with overlapping upper ends, curtain-supporting frames, and clips carried by said frames and arranged to engage the overlapping strips" (lines 92-97).

Patent for a new and improved car-axle bearing. This design is "compris[ed of] the separable upper and lower sections having the longitudinal grooves on their respective upper and lower sides, the straps fitting in the said groove, and the bolts engaging the said straps and clamping the sections of the box together . . . in combination with the axle having its end fitting within the box, the collar shrunk onto the end of the axle within the box, said collar having the annular flanges, and the block pressing on the collar within the flanges" (lines 73-93).

Patent for improvements in electric belts.

Patent for a new and improved reflector for oil lamps. This design consists in "a collar provided with a bead and having two holes through said bead, a looped wire the looped portion of which is curved and the ends of which are also curved and passed through the holes in said collar and rigidly secured within said bead, and a shell the upper end of which is provided with a hole and the lower with a bail for securing the same upon the curved portion of said loop" (lines 58-66).

Patent for a new and improved cabinet. This design consists in "the combination, with a hinged door or lid, of [a] . . . separate bail" (lines 99-100). Further, said bail is "pivotally secured at its upper ends to the cabinet, and adapted to support on its middle portion the free end of the said door when the latter is in its horizontal position . . . [and it consists in] a suitable frame, the drawers having compartments on either side thereof, in combination with the hinged pie-board having the opening . . . which when raised closes said compartments" (lines 1-10).

Patent for a new and improved electric-arc lamp. This design is "for utilizing a part of the magnetic field of the electro-magnet to act as a retarding medium or a brake to the carbon-holder, which consists of a system of gear-wheels provided with a ratchet and pawl . . . actuated from rack-teeth cut in the side of the upper-carbon rod, on the last spindle of which is adjustably secured a disk of soft iron or other magnetic material, so located as to be within the influence of the magnetic field of one end of the electro-magnet" (lines 36-47).

Patent for a new and improved coupling for thills. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the clip having the ears provided with the openings of the draft-iron having the eye at its inner end adapted to be inserted between the ears of the clip and having the transverse central opening" (lines 94-98). Further, it has "the coupling-bolt having the inclined shoulder and the nut provided with the [other] inclined shoulder and the sleeves having the inclined inner ends adapted to enter the inclines of the draft-iron and provided at their outer ends with the inclined recesses" (lines 1-7).

Patent for a new and improved book-adjuster. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the holder having the horizontal longitudinal recess and the vertical screw-threaded aperture, of the base-piece, the adjusting-screw swiveled at its lower end in the said base-piece, and the spring-catch" (lines 3-8).

Patent for device "to improve the illumination and increase the efficiency and subserviency of street-care fare-boxes. To these ends the source of light is located in the interior of the box, instead of being placed in a separate chamber at the outside of the box, as is now done, and electrical agency is utilized to produce the light and also to notify the driver that a passenger requires change and when a fair has been deposited in the box" (lines 8-17).
