Patent for a new and improved wagon for cotton pickers. This design "consists in a suitable frame-work supported on wheels and covered on top by canvas or other suitable material to protect the pickers from the rays of the sun or from the rain, and on one or both sides of the frame, preferably both, is a trough for receiving the picked cotton" (lines 10-16).

Patent for a new and improved baling press. This design "consists in the combination, with the follower, the right-and-left-screw, and nuts, of the hinged levers and the bars swiveled thereto; also, in the combination . . . of the slotted bars, the hinged socket, and the swiveled arms; also, in the combination, with the nuts having shoulders and the hinged levers having forked up ends, of the anti-friction rollers journaled in recesses in the said nuts; also . . . of the curved and flattened swiveled arms, whereby the lower ends of the said follower-bars can have a lateral movement" (lines 23-38).

Patent for an improvement to a churning by allowing a churn to be attached to a sewing machine. The churn and sewing machine could then be used separately or at the same time.

Patent for a new and improved animal tag. This design "consists in an animal-tag formed of a tube provided with a removable cover and an elongated staple for the strap, by which this tube is held to the animal" (lines 11-14).

Patent for a new and improved wagon brake. This design consists "[i]n the brake-beams pivoted in the clamp, in combination with the bent rods, castings, brake-blocks, and lever" (lines 87-89).

Patent for a new and improved window frame. This design "has for its objects to provide an improved means for holding the sash of a window in any position to which it may be elevated, and at the same time permit the sash to be readily moved up or down" (lines 11-15).

Patent for a new and improved store counter. This design "consists in the construction and novel arrangement of the horizontal slideways in the lower portion of the counter extending from front to rear, the rectangular slide-frames working therein, and the angular boxes pivoted by their lower and middle portions to the slide-frames and reversible therein by a rocking movement" (lines 17-24).

Patent for a new and improved spark arrester for train smokestacks. This design is of "a locomotive-engine, a pipe or pipes for conveying sparks from the smoke-stack, in combination of a diaphragm or cone placed in the stack and a steam or water chamber placed around the discharge of said pipe or pipes" (lines 88-93).

Patent for a new and improved safe. This design "[has a] top projecting beyond its sides . . . in combination with the upright posts having liquid-cups, the rods, and sleeves for suspending the safe from contact with any object" (lines 79-83).

Patent for improvements in fertilizers “for restoring to the soil the elements which form the food for plants, and which have been abstracted therefore by the absorption of successive crops, or which are naturally deficient in quantity or entirely wanting in the soil.” (Lines 12-16) Instructions on preparing the fertilizers and ingredients are included. No illustration.

Patent for saddle stirrup, with illustrations. The invention "relates to those stirrups which are provided with foot-pieces adapted to oscillate thereupon... and at the same time provide means whereby the foot-pieces can have limited universal movement" (lines 10-15).

Patent for a new and improved horseshoe. This design "consists in a horseshoe constructed with a base made in two parts, hinged together at their forward ends, and having a cap, also made in two parts, attached to the base, the parts of the cap being provided at their upper forward corners with eyes and a fastening staple, and the hinged parts of the base being locked in place by a screw-rod passing through the hinged end of the base, whereby the shoe can be readily applied and detached, and will be securely held in place" (lines 22-33).

Patent for a new and improved post-hole digger. This design "has for its object to provide a simple, durable, inexpensive, and efficient device, the levers of which can be readily separated, so that either of them can be used as a spade or shovel to fill in the earth around the post after it is placed in the hole" (lines 14-19).

Patent for a new and improved pistol holster. This design "consists of a plate of malleable iron or other suitable metal, curved to conform to the waist of a person, having secured to it on the inside a spring adapted to push outward from the waist toward an auxiliary slotted countersunk plate, serving to hold the head of the screw attached to the fire-arm" (lines 19-25).

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design "consists essentially of contrivances for setting the buffer or draw-bar and a pin setting, tripping and uncoupling device higher or lower for adapting the coupling to couple self-actingly with cars different in height" (lines 8-13).

Patent for a new and improved cotton stalk and weed cutter. This design calls for "[a]n interchangeable cotton-stalk cutter and sulky plow . . . adapted to receive a plow at its rear end" (lines 67-70). The cutting blades can be raised and lowered as needed.
