Patent for a new and improved well-drill. This design consists "[i]n a drill, the cylinder closed at its upper end by a head with a stuffing-box and a tapering opening and provided at its lower end with suitable cutters, in combination with an operating-rod passing through the upper head and a weight, said operating-rod being provided with spring-arms adapted to engage and raise said weight within the cylinder and at the top thereof automatically to release it" (lines 27-35).

Patent for a well-drilling apparatus meant "to provide improved means for adjusting and withdrawing drill-tools without removing the drill-rod to provide a folding reamer and means for adjusting the blades thereof, and to provide means for conveying water to the drill, whereby the drillings are carried up outside of the drill-rod or barrel" (lines 9-16).

Patent for "a construction of propeller-wheel that will permit a large reduction in the wheel-diameter without impairing its effectiveness, and which will thereby bring the resistance nearer to the crank-range of the motive power, and also to increase the bucket or blade surface of the wheel and at the same time afford such clearance at the center of the wheel as will relieve resistance to easy operation of the engine or motive power." It consists "of a solid or tubular shank provided with spring-metal tines, a ring to slide thereon, and a hollow weight sliding on the tube adapted to drive the ring down upon the tines" (lines 12-16).

Patent for a propeller-wheel for steam and other vessels. This invention is meant "to provide a propeller by which a maximum speed may be obtained without a proportionate increase in toe motive power employed" (lines 15-18). It doesn't have a lateral resistance of water and does not diffuse water in all directions.

Patent for an adjustable plow, with instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a simple and durable stock-trough that feeds and waters stock and is easily cleaned. No wooden parts are exposed to the watering portion of the trough, and the invention will not injure the stock.

Patent for a gearing and gear-covering for agricultural machinery that has "an improved bearing for the ground-wheel in which wear will be reduced to a minimum, and the parts readily maintained in proper relative alignment and position, and also to produce an efficient guard for the gearing, whereby cotton and corn-stalks, weeds, grass, and other foreign bodies, are prevented from engaging and clogging the same, and thus impede the free positive operation of the machine" (lines 22-31).
