Press for Expressing Oil from Cotton and Other Seeds.

Patent for a new and improved oil-press. This design "consists in certain novel constructions and combination of the pressing-plates with each other and the ram of the press, and in means for operating said plates in independent series, whereby great efficiency is obtained, and the plates, which are guttered or grooved, may be readily cleaned" (lines 18-24).

Patent for a new and improved oil lamp. This design calls for transparent material (e.g., glass) to be installed on the top of the oil chamber, so one can better predict the fullness, which prevents overflowing. Additionally, a second opening to the side of the main opening allows the oil chamber to be safely refilled while already lit.

Spring Seat for Vehicles.

Patent for a new and improved spring seat for vehicles. This design calls for, "[a]s a means of attaching seats to vehicles, two frames, one connected to the body, the other to the seat, the upper bar of one and the lower bar of the other being connected by draw spiral springs, and the side bars of one sliding in loops upon side bars of the other" (lines 47-53).

Device for Sheltering Animals.

Patent for a new and improved animal shelter. This design "relates to a device which may be adapted for use as a hen's nest, a dog-kennel, a stable for domestic animals, or for analogous purposes. The principle of construction prevalent in all these different adaptations for use of the device consists of certain improved means for automatically closing the door as the animal steps into a vertically-swinging compartment, and for automatically opening the door as the animal leaves said swinging compartment" (lines 13-23).
