Patent for new and valuable Improvement in Bran-Dressers

Patent for a new and improved bridge. This design consists in "the combination, with the base, stringers, the top arched bars, and the upright tie-bars, of the intermediate stringers, arched bars, and their horizontal tie-bars, and wedge-keys . . . whereby the structure is greatly strengthened" (lines 85-91).

Patent for a new and improved automatic service cock. This design "furnish[es] an improved automatic valve to form the connection between the water-main or distributing pipe and the service-pipe of a building for regulating the flow and pressure of water in such service-pipe and preventing overpressure" (lines 7-12).

Patent for a new and improved washing machine. This design utilizes a plunger to create a partial vacuum in the corresponding tub, whereupon water, when rushing to fill the partial vacuum, saturates the clothes, cleaning them.

Patent for a new and improved lantern for hunting. This design "is to produce a light, cheap, and convenient lamp that can be carried upon the head with greater comfort, and at the same time be more efficient than any heretofore known" (lines 10-13).

Patent for a new and improved pressure regulator for fermented liquids. This design "has for its object to provide an improved automatic hydraulic apparatus for supplying compressed air to kegs or casks containing fermented liquids, to replace the vacuum caused by drawing off a portion of the said liquid, and thus to maintain a uniform pressure in such vessels as long as any portion of their contents remain to be drawn therefrom" (lines 8-15).

Patent for a new and improved plow colter. This design calls for a colter that conforms to the face-curve of the plow shovel, thus forming a landside. The colter can be attached to and removed from either side of the plow standard.

Patent for a composition of matter to be used for kindling fires. Ingredients, proportions of ingredients and mixing instructions are included. No illustration.

Patent for a new and improved farm gate. This design "provide[s] the gate with a suitable spring-bolt, in connection with an arrangement of devices or mechanism whereby the bolt is operated as the gate is being opened; also, in providing means whereby the pressure on the gate caused by the wind is equalized, thereby enabling the gate to be more easily operated" (lines 22-29).

Patent for a new and improved earth auger. This design "relates to machines for boring post-holes, &c.; and it consists especially in certain improvements in the frame and operating mechanism" (lines 21-24).
