Patent for a new and improved current regulator. This design "pertains to that class of regulators in which the collecting brushes of the commutator are automatically moved around the commutator and caused to occupy different positions relatively to the maximum lines of the magnetic field between the poles and the armature; and it embraces a novel method of controlling the movement of the brushes to compensate for variations in the speed of the machine and regulate the current in accordance with the work to be done" (lines 11-21).

Patent for a new and improved brace for bed frames. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the bedstead having bolts at the corners, the hooks at the centers of the end rails, and the hooks at the centers of the side rails, of the two wires on each side having their ends secured to the bolts, engaging the hooks and passing to the side of the bed and engaging the hooks, the rings strung on and embracing the adjoining wires between the hooks . . . so as to cause the wires to be brought together, and the cord or strap connecting the said rings so as to slide the rings upon the wires" (lines 20-31).

This design consists in "the combination of a tube having a longitudinal slot in its top at one end and a transverse slot in the bottom near the other end, the top of the tube on each side of the longitudinal slot bent downward, a pen secured to the end of the tube having the longitudinal slot, a portion of one side piece of the pen forming an end for the tube and the other side piece being cut away and secured to the tube, and a receptacle under the end of the tube having the transverse slot, the upper edges of the pen and of the receptacle being bent" (lines 65-77).

Patent for a new and improved piston packing. This design consists in a "piston head cast entire and having radial arms bored out, in combination with the piston-segments, the steam-ports in the piston-plates, and stems of said segments, packing expansible rings on said stems, and the expansible packing-rings inclosing the said piston-segments" (lines 87-93).

Patent for a simplified washing machine by constructing it with "double bottoms and sides, and in providing the said machines with means by which the washing-liquid is made to flow upward between the said sides and downward upon the article or articles to be washed; and it also consists in providing suitable means whereby said articles or articles may be drained" (lines 14-20).

Patent for a new and improved spring-punch. This design "is to provide a punch in which the dies may be easily changed and adjusted, thus enabling one punch to serve for various purposes. [The] invention consists in constructing a punch with two or more sets of connected or geared levers, whereby the power of the jaws is greatly increased. It is not necessary, therefore, to apply as much power to the handles to produce the same result. The invention consists, further, in providing one of the jaws with a slot in which a number of dies may be secured" (lines 14-26).

Patent for a new and improved fence. This design consists in "[t]he combination of the fence-wires, the stay-rods having their lower ends fitted in the ground and provided with a series of steps or rests fitted to the fence wires, a series of tie-wires securing the fence-wires to said steps, and braces twisted around the stay-rods near the upper ends thereof and having their ends secured to buried anchors" (lines 59-66).

Patent for "a folding coop or crate, which may be readily folded into a compact form for transportation or storage when empty, and which may be conveniently adjusted to open position for use and secured in such position when so desired" (lines 7-12).

Patent for a new and improved railroad switch. This design "has for its object to provide a simple, inexpensive, efficient, and safe switch adapted for operation by trip-bars on a locomotive engine or car to open or close the switch, and without injury to the rails or actuating mechanism of the switch or danger of derailing the cars" (lines 7-14).
