Patent for a new and improved cotton chopper and cultivator. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with a cotton cultivator and chopper, of the usual frame, a pair of guiding-handles pivoted thereto, a chopping-knife hinged to said frame, and links forming a loose connection between said blade and handles, whereby the blade is raised and lowered" (lines 26-31).

Patent for a new and improved blind-stop. This design consists "of a corrugated flange or plate connected with the frame thereof, a spring-retaining strip, a corrugated bar arranged between the retaining strip and the corrugated flange, a socket formed upon the corrugated bar and adapted to receive the slat-bar, and a set-screw carried by the retaining strip" (lines 77-84).

Patent for a new and improved bee feeder. This design consists in "the vertically oblong box or case having an opening in one side of its lower end, a trough or basin projecting in front of said lower opening, and lateral attaching flanges or wings" (lines 68-72).

Patent for a new and improved book-adjuster. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the holder having the horizontal longitudinal recess and the vertical screw-threaded aperture, of the base-piece, the adjusting-screw swiveled at its lower end in the said base-piece, and the spring-catch" (lines 3-8).

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design consists in "[t]he combination, in a coupling for air-brakes, of the movable arm having the recess or socket, and the pivoted arm having the shoulder or offset adapted to fit the recess and provided with the [other] arm to direct the said shoulder or offset to the said recess when the coupling-arms come together, the said shoulder and recess forming the terminals of the air-pipes at the ends of the cars" (lines 92-100).

Patent for a new and improved ant trap. This design consists in "[a]n ant-trap, comprising the body and the inward-projecting tubes having the protecting-caps on their inner ends, the outer faces of the caps being convex and provided with apertures of greater diameter than the bore of the inner end of the tube" (lines 90-95).

Patent for a new and improved wire splicer and stretcher. This design "consist[s] of a suitable body . . . provided with a series of perforations and having its ends turned in opposite directions, one end being tapered to an edge and notched and the other end being pointed" (lines 24-28).

Patent for a new and improved wire stretcher. This design consists in "a frame having two arms, one carrying a fixed clamp and the other a roller, a windlass mounted on said frame having a rope passing over said roller and adapted to be fixed to an end of wire, and a central clamp consisting of a rigid bar on the frame between its arms, a notched clamp pivoted thereon, and a ring for retaining the clamp" (lines 6-14).

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the plow-beam, of the plow-standard hinged to a crank-rod journaled in the plow-beam, the tension-spring connected to the plow-standard and provided with the adjustable plate, and the key or rod for securing the adjusting-plate in place" (lines 83-88).

Patent for improvement to hay pitching and stacking machines "to provide a device for pitching and stacking hay, the parts of which can be easily and quickly taken apart or adjusted, and which may be employed in making stacks of hay or straw" (lines 18-22).

Patent for device "to improve the illumination and increase the efficiency and subserviency of street-care fare-boxes. To these ends the source of light is located in the interior of the box, instead of being placed in a separate chamber at the outside of the box, as is now done, and electrical agency is utilized to produce the light and also to notify the driver that a passenger requires change and when a fair has been deposited in the box" (lines 8-17).

Patent for a new and improved gate. This design consists in "[t]he combination of the posts having therein the pulleys . . . at the upper part, and one of them the notches, the cord, the weight attached thereto and to the gate, the gate, and the bolt in the post extending on either side of the gate and provided with a lug adapted to be moved over the gate and hold it down, or to be removed therefrom at will" (lines 72-80).

Patent for a new and improved filter. This design is for "[a] filter consisting of sections secured together at their meeting edges by a lapped joint, the upper edge of [a] section being fitted wholly within [another] section and forming a shoulder for the support of a screen-plate, and the body of filtering material above, a shoulder on [a] section below [the] shoulder, and screen plates resting on and held to the shoulders by the weight of the body of filtering material, whereby, when the filter-sections are inverted, the [other] shoulder serves to support [the] screen and the filtering material above" (lines 45-56).

Patent for a multiple saw gummer and sharpener.

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design "is capable of vertical adjustment, so that the plowshare and landside will be elevated out of contact with the ground in order to prevent the point from wearing out in transporting or moving it from one field or place to another; and it is furthermore provided with an improved fender and scraper, which prevents the dirt from clogging up and wearing the axle, and keeps the periphery of the wheel clear of mud or other matter that is liable to adhere thereto" (lines 27-37).

Patent for a new and improved refrigerator. This design "consist[s] of the cooling-box having top doors, the over-hanging frame, guide-pulleys, cords, and weights, the ice-box having an ice support or grate in its lower end, a water-tank in the upper end of said ice-box, and a discharge-pipe connected with the tank and having its lower portion disposed in coils below the ice support or grate" (lines 13-21).

Patent for a new and improved gun-barrel cleaner. This design consists in "[t]he combination of a flat shank having a hole in its intermediate portion, a pivot-bolt having its middle round and its ends square, and a cleaning-head secured upon said bolt, said head consisting of two parts, one part being secured upon each end of said bolt" (lines 4-9).
