Patent for "Compounds for the Manufacture of Artificial Stone...and it consists in composition formed by mixing certain materials in solution and treating them in further solutions" (lines 5-15).

Patent for a new and improved implement for the sealing of railroad cars and packages. This design "consists of an implement combining all the tools necessary for rapidly and easily sealing railroad-cars and packages with the ordinary wire or tin seals, and of the [novel] particular construction" (lines 9-13).

Patent for a new and improved coffee roaster. This design utilizes handles "so arranged as to enable the operator to shake it and move it upside down and about with great facility. The perforated or wire-cloth bottom and top allow the heat from the stove or fire to pass unobstructed to the coffee, so that a strong and uniform heat is applied. The wire-cloth bottom also acts as a sieve . . . and it does not scratch or burn the grains" (lines 49-58). The design eliminates the need for a stirring utensil.

Patent for a new and improved bell cord coupling. This design consists in "[a] cord connecting and tension device comprising essentially a shell or tube, a spiral spring, and a pair of slotted balls arranged therein, and a flat strip having round ends adapted to slide through said balls . . . [and] a sliding spring-encircled plate provided with screw-threaded and split end portions, and nuts fitted on the latter, in combination with a tube or shell, and balls arranged in said tube" (lines 89-100).

Patent for a new and improved cotton buncher. This design utilizes a wheel that "is to press down the plants and weeds that are to be destroyed, so that the plows, whether used along with the wheel or afterward, will cover them up with fresh earth, and thus assist in destroying them, and at the same time cultivating the plants to be retained and facilitating the subsequent thinning process" (lines 62-68).

Patent for a new and improved cot. This design is for a cot that, "[w]hen it is desired to pack the cot for transportation the flexible bottom is first removed from the frame, after which the latter is taken apart and the pieces thereof placed compactly together in a bundle with the flexible bottom. In this cot there are no pivot-joints to become worn or get out of order, and should any of the separable pieces become broken or damaged they can be readily replaced" (lines 47-56).

Patent for a new and improved hand car. This design consists in "[a] hand-car constructed with a frame-work . . . and provided with a propelling mechanism consisting of the bent pipe-lever in combination with the rocking lever, provided with the socket, the connecting-rod, driving wheel, and pinion" (lines 92-98).

Patent for improvements to telephone transmitters by transmitting the sound waves into electrical currents.

Patent for a new and improved fan attachment. This design "consists of an attachment for rocking-chairs, cradles, &c., and having an oscillatory arm adapted to hold a fan" (lines 9-11).

Patent for a new and improved running gear. This design consists "[i]n an adjustable axle, the combination of the squarely grooved or axle-tree, having [a] central square block, the spindles having inner square portions, having horizontal slots and vertical slots, vertical nutted bolts and horizontal nutted bolts, [and] having hooks adapted to have the draft-chains attached to them" (lines 74-81).

Patent for a new and improved running-gear for wagons. This design consists "[i]n a running-gear for carriages and wagons, the combination, with the axle provided with the collars of the stationary and rotary disks, and interposed anti-friction rollers mounted on arms projecting from disks, which are mounted on bolts, constituting axles for the rotary disks and the horizontal wheels and in the boxes" (lines 10-17).

Patent for a new and improved shaker for mixed drinks. This design utilizes a spring and a hinge to enable a lid with holes for straining to be attached directly to the cocktail shaker. This eliminates the chance that the straining lid would not be at hand when mixing a drink as well as the chance of losing the straining lid.

Patent for a new and improved revolving boot and shoe box. This design "consists in the employment of a revolving conoidal or tapering case having a series of compartments arranged one series above another throughout its entire height, and disposed within a surrounding case or inclosure provided with sliding doors" (lines 23-29).
