Patent for improvements in wind and water motors in which it will not only increase its efficiency and durability but also, be capable of operating in tidal rivers, streams and other currents. This is an improvement of patent no. 588572 of the same inventor. Illustration is included.

Patent for a new and improved hay pressing or baling machine. This design "relates to presses or baling-machines, and more particularly to that class which are worked bu hand-power" (line 9 - 11).

Patent for a new and improved easel and rest. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the rest . . . of the bar pivoted to [a] holder by bolt, the perforated bar pivoted to [another] bar by [another] bolt, and the easel united to the [first] bar by a suitable round bolt" (lines 97-101).

Patent for a new and improved seed planter. This design "features . . . first, reciprocating forked seed pushers or plungers attached to a sliding frame and operating alternately to deliver the seed through a covered opening in the bottom of the hopper, whence it passes into the furrow; second, an intermittently-rotating shaft arranged in the seed-hopper and provided with spiral or oblique arms for agitating the seed and feeding it toward the discharge opening" (lines 15-24).

Patent for a new and improved bell cord coupling. This design consists in "[a] cord connecting and tension device comprising essentially a shell or tube, a spiral spring, and a pair of slotted balls arranged therein, and a flat strip having round ends adapted to slide through said balls . . . [and] a sliding spring-encircled plate provided with screw-threaded and split end portions, and nuts fitted on the latter, in combination with a tube or shell, and balls arranged in said tube" (lines 89-100).

Patent for improvements in the construction of water-wheels, including illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved vehicle wheel. This design "consists in the improved construction and combination of parts of a brace consisting of two rings secured together, and having recesses in their meeting sides, and provided with a number of brace-rods passing to one or two rings secured upon the hub of a vehicle-wheel, the spokes fitting in the recesses in the meeting sides of the rings" (lines 19-27).

Patent for a novel form of propeller in which a current of air or other fluid is forced under pressure through a port in the stern of the vessel causing propulsion.

Patent for a new and improved three-wheeled vehicle. This design "has an advantage over a four-wheeled vehicle in dispensing with one wheel and one or more springs. It is more readily turned than a four-wheeled vehicle, and can more easily avoid collision with other vehicles when in motion. It also offers better facilities for entering and leaving the carriage, and a vehicle for this design and of equal strength with a four-wheeled vehicle will weigh twenty to fifty pounds less" (lines 73-82).

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design "relates to an improvement in . . . the construction of the mold-board and to the arrangement thereof relative to the plowshare. The mold-board, instead of being curved or concave, as has usually been the case, is . . . made perfectly flat, and so constructed that it projects at one corner slightly beyond the upper edge of the plowshare. . . . [C]onsequently the plow can be moved through the soil with less difficulty" (lines 13-25).

Patent for a new and useful submerged current motor, including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and useful improvements in nailing-machines. This design is "adapted to automatically distribute and feed the nails to a predetermined point" (line 10-12).

Patent for improvements in snaps including an eye for a strap to pass through for gripping.

Patent for a shutter attachment that acts as a spacer and holds the window shutters open; it sits between the slats and is attached to the rod that opens the shutters.

Patent for new improvements for devices for producing pressure for sauer-kraut or other food products needing pressure.

Patent for a new and improved fare-box. This design consists in "three resting-places for the fares before they enter the final receptacle or drawer provided at the bottom of the case, and the windows in front are so arranged that the fares may be observed at each change until they enter their final receptacle. All lights of glass employed are held in grooves in the upright sides of the case or in a frame secured in grooves of the said sides, so that by no possibility can they be displaced unless the entire box is taken to pieces" (lines 25-35).

Patent for an improved flavoring compound "especially adapted for flavoring meats and food products, soups, stews, etc., and consists in combining Mexican pepper, spices of cuminum and origanum, salt, garlic, tallow or suet." (Lines 10-14)

Patent for a sewing system on trains or vehicles which will allow then to have working water-closets.

Patent for a folding bed that has a mosquito canopy that automatically unfolds over it. It includes instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved cotton-harvesting machine, including illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design "will serve to cut and pulverize the soil and at the same time will act as a guide to the plow, whereby it may be steadied and caused to run more evenly" (lines 17-20). It consists, "with the beam, the standards provided with shovels, and the brace-rod, of the backwardly-extending arm pivoted to standards and having its free end formed into a knife-edge, the vertical bar secured to said arm intermediate of its ends and provided with a series of holes and the pin passing through the beam and through said holes" (lines 65-73).
