Patent for a new and improved washing-machine. This design "is to simplify and improve the construction of washing machines and to enable clothes to be thoroughly washed without liability of injuring them" (lines 10-14). This design consists in "a frame comprising the legs, the rounds connecting the legs, and the parallel horizontal side bars connecting the upper ends of the legs at each side of the frame, the ends of the frame being open at the top, a diamond-shaped washing-machine body journaled between the sides of the frame, the spiral springs arranged at each end of the horizontal bars" (lines 89-98).

This design is "so constructed as to permit of its ready adjustment to different gates, and also its adjustment, as may be required, subsequent to its attachment to the gate, without necessitating its removal" (lines 20-24). It "compris[es] the latch-bar having therein a longitudinal slot, the arm connected to the intermediate portion of said bar by a bolt or pin passing adjustably through said slot, said arm being curved forwardly at its upper portion, and a transverse handle-bar rigidly secured to the upper end of said arm" (lines 84-91).

Patent for a new and improved cradle. This design "has for its object to provide a hanging cradle suspended from its [frame] . . . being arranged in such a manner whereby the cradle is capable of being moved . . . in an easy, uniform, and steady motion without the danger of tilting over" (lines 8-16). It consists in "[a] swinging cradle comprising the folding end bars, the cross-bar having a depressed portion and end projections forming the pivotal axes for the bars, the catches pivoted to the end bars and adapted to engage the depressed part of the bar . . . and the spring-suspensions" (lines 12-18).
