Patent for a new and improved planter. This design "consists of a drum or hollow cylinder journaled to a suitable frame, said drum being designed to receive the grain or seed through a suitable door or opening. This drum or cylinder has at each end a peripheral beveled flange, and centrally around the drum a series of holes, and an adjustable strap or band, also provided with holes, so that when this strap is secured around the drum and properly adjusted the seed or grain within the drum will pass through the holes as the drum rotates" (lines 17-28).

Apparatus for Handling Seed-Cotton.

Patent for an improved cotton elevator, separator, and distributor that is meant to move cotton from a wagon or storage, remove dirt, and deliver it to a gin. The "improved apparatus comprises a pneumatic cotton-conveying tube by which the cotton is lifted or carried to the distributor, a separator for removing the cotton from the air current, and a distributor comprising a trunk for receiving the cotton from the separator extending over the two gin feeders, having openings delivering into the feeders, and an endless chain conveyer moving in said trunk, causing the cotton to travel along therein and drop out therefrom through the delivery openings into the feeders" (lines 16-27).

Apparatus for Impregnating Liquids with Gases.

Patent for a new and improved apparatus for impregnating liquids with gases. This design "relates to apparatus for impregnating water or other suitable liquid with the fumes emanating from the consumption of a combustible composition of matter, such as sulphur, which when ignited emits a gas containing suitable medicinal qualities" (lines 14-19). It consists in "the closed reservoir for containing the liquid, having windows upon opposite walls thereof, of the transverse beam having its ends supported in said windows, the sulphur-containing vessel . . . the man-hole, the air-hole, and cocks" (lines 4-10).
