It has supply and suction pipes, an air-tight cotton distributing box with an opening on one side and a gravity drop door on the other, a mechanism that moves the box in and out of the line of suction of the pipes, and a group of circular distributing boxes that rotate between the pipes.

Patent for improvements in combined swords and pistols where the "pistol is supported by the sword blade adjacent the handle portion" (lines 11-12). This invention relates to the casting of "lines of type on slugs or bars formed in molds from metal supplied by a melting pot" (lines 11-13) for linotype machines and provides "novel and efficient means for holding the used or worn out slugs in position to be fed to a melting pot, improved devices for automatically feeding one or more slugs to the pot as often as necessary, and novel and efficient means for sounding an alarm when the supply of slugs in the magazine is exhausted or materially reduced" (lines 27-35).
