Patent for improvement in spindle-nut by providing “an extension to the spindle-nut, not being a washer in any sense of the word, but to all intents and purposes an integral part of said nut adapted to extend toward the outer end of the axle-box and to hold the same to its seat upon the spindle as efficiently as when the parts were new.” (Lines 35-41) Illustration is included.

Patent for an "improved attachment for pianos, organs, or other instruments provided with pedals" (lines 9-10) to protect the openings underneath the pedals from mice, dust, or other unwanted items entering the instrument through such openings.

Patent for a new and improved cotton picker. This design "is to provide a light, simple, and easily constructed cotton-picking device, capable of being operated by hand, and which can be manufactured and placed upon the market at a low cost to the purchaser, who, by the employment of the same, is enabled to gather the cotton fiber from the bolls without regard to the height of the stalks, and at the same time such portions of the product that may have become detached from the bolls and fallen to the ground can be gathered up without the necessity of excessive stooping" (lines 24-36).
