Patent for "a new and useful Improvements in the Construction of Privy-Vaults and Apparatus for Use Therewith"(lines 4-6)" to insure cleanliness in around privy-vaults and to prevent accumulations therein, especially in localities where water is not easily available"(lines 9-12), instructions and illustrations included.

Patent for a new and improved wind engine. This design "relates to an improvement in wind-engines, in which a vertical circular frame having a wind-wheel is covered to the half by a hemispherical roof supported by posts" (lines 8-12).

Patent for a new and improved funnel. This design "relates to improvements in funnels for transferring molasses and other thick liquid and substances from one receptacle into bottles, jars, and other vessels; and the objects of [the] improvements are to provide a funnel with means for securing it to a table, counter, &c.; to provide said funnel with means for forcing a liquid therethrough and the forcing apparatus with a detachable spout thereunder" (lines 10-19).

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the coupling-box or draw-head and spring-pin, of the block, spring, and plate, united together as described, the plate being of suitable size to enter the bore of the draw-head" (lines 4-8).

Patent for a new and improved car-seat recorder. This design consists in "[t]he combination of the following elements: a car-axle, the depressible car-seat, and the recording apparatus arranged alongside the seat and consisting of friction feed-wheels, a paper strip, meshing spur-gears, and a puncturing device arranged vertically, a lever which operatively connects said seat and apparatus, and gearing which connects the latter with the axle, whereby movement of the car operates said apparatus and enables the record to be made by slitting the strip when the seat is depressed" (lines 22-33).

Patent for a new and improved wheel-hub. This design "relates to that class of wheel-hubs which are made up of several parts in order that they may be cast in metal; and the object of the invention is to adapt the mortise-piece of the hub to be cast independently of the flanges, to form a positive clamp for the shoulders, and the protect the bearings from sand" (lines 8-15).

Patent for a new and improved hub. This design consists in "[t]he combination of a hub having a seat on its periphery, the adjustable sections fitted on the seat of the hub and adapted to receive the spokes, the threaded studs affixed to the hub, and the adjustable nuts fitted on the studs and bearing against the adjustable sections" (lines 57-62).

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with a plow-beam, of two side-bars, the rear portion of each of which is folded back upon itself, forming a standard, a shorter standard, a handle the front end of which and the end of the double portion are secured to the said bar by means of a single bolt, and the downturned end of one-half of the adjusting device and a brace for said handle being secured by a single bolt at another place" (lines 8-17).

Patent for a new and improved tire-tightener. This design has "parts [that] are the width of a felly and a fraction less their depth, and bearing solid against their ends are held in place by flanges on each end. As the screw is turned in it forces the parts against the ends of felly, forcing the fellies against the tire, and is prevented from coming in contact with the tire by a rubber fender, or of other substance placed under tire-tightener. Fender is held in place by flanges at each side on bottom of tire-tightener; is also provided with a sliding joint on sides to cover the opening made by expansion" (lines 14-26).

Patent for a new and improved harvesting-sack supporter. This design "relates to improvements in supporting devices for harvesting-sacks, being especially adapted for use in corn-pulling, and by cotton-pickers, and its objects are to provide means whereby the sack may be so attached to the picker that its weight will be distributed proportionately over the body of the wearer, and will not strain and tire the back of the person bearing the same" (lines 16-24).

Patent for a new and improved gate. This design consists, "with the gate, [in a] forwardly-inclined lever pivoted at its lower end to the rear gate-posts, and links pivoted to the rear end of the gate and to the lever between its ends, of a pin passed through holes in the links beyond their pivotal points and through a bar fixed to the rear end of the gate" (lines 44-51).

Patent for a new and improved planter. This design "consists in the detailed construction . . . by which the operator is enabled to see each seed in its passage from the planting-wheel to the ground, and so can guard against the disadvantage of some of the rows being only half planted, from the seed-spout getting stopped up, or from the planter-wheel failing to act properly, and in other improvements" (lines 13-21).

Patent for a new and improved fare-box. This design consists in a "cylinder provided with a longitudinal slot more than half the diameter of said cylinder in depth, and weighed by means of a rotary weight secured to the shaft which forms the axis, to return said cylinder and keep it to normal position with the mouth of the slot downward, of the inclined parallel plates located, respectively, above and below said cylinder, and means for operating said cylinder composed of segment, arm, and toothed wheel secured to the shaft of said cylinder" (lines 110-122).

Patent for a new and improved file. This design "consists in the improved construction and combination of parts of a file having its teeth cut to extend half-way across the face from each edge and at an angle to each other, and having a longitudinal groove in the middle of each face" (lines 22-27).

Patent for a new and improved sash holder. This design "relates to improvements in window-stops, the object of which is to provide a cheap, convenient, and durable device for supporting windows, which may be set in the sash, so as not to mar its looks" (lines 12-16).

Patent for a wrench that is used to fix railroad tracks, including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved power-stand. In this design, "a single pulley is mounted upon a stand, the shaft of said pulley bearing at each end, outside of the stand, one part of a friction or other clutch, which may be engaged with or disengaged from the corresponding part of a clutch attached to the shaft of a machine" (lines 13-19).

Patent for a new and improved ventilation system. This design consists in "an aperture having a size about ten inches by seven inches in area, a ventilating draft-flue having a diameter of about six inches by six and one-half inches and a height of about ten feet, and a receptacle having a diameter of about twenty-two inches, the said relative proportions being followed accordingly as the size of the privy, commode, or closet is increased or decreased" (lines 56-64).

Patent for a new and improved cotton-scraper. This design "is to produce a cotton-scraper of economical construction that will cut a wider furrow with lighter draft, do the work more perfectly, and at the same time be more easily held to the row than the scrapers in the present general use" (lines 11-16).
