Patent for a new and improved chair. This design consists "[i]n a reading and writing attachment for chairs, the combination of a bail-shaped clamp adapted to be applied to a chair-arm, an upright slotted arm, a set-screw passing through said slotted arm and engaging the clamp, a plate carried by the upper end of said slotted arm, and a table pivotally connected to said plate, whereby the table may be adjusted vertically, horizontally, and obliquely" (lines 66-75).

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design "is to provide means for raising the catch to release it from either side or from the top of the car, and holding it in such raised position" (lines 8-12). It consists, "with the draw-head and the catch pivoted therein and having tip extended vertically through the front end thereof, of eyes in said draw-head, a wire frame journaled in said eyes and having forwardly extending arms above and beneath the body of said catch, and means . . . for turning the frame in said eyes" (lines 85-93).

Patent for a new and improved trunk-fastening. This design "consist[s] of a stationary block having a segmental groove in its under side, a stop at one end of said groove, an overlapping flange projecting from the outside bounding-rib of said groove, a rotary disk having a segmental extension, a flange projecting from the outer surface of said extension and adapted to enter said segmental groove, a circular flange projecting from the outside surface of the disk and fitting beneath the overlapping flange of the stationary block, said circular flange forming with the segmental flange" (lines 7-19).

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design consists in "the combination of the share having the keeper on the mold-board and the arm, the detachable point bearing against the outer side of the arm and having the tongue engaging the keeper, and the lever fulcrumed to the mold-board at a point between the keeper and landside, and having the short arm adapted to lap the joint between the point and mold-board and to engage the outer end of the tongue to lock the latter in the keeper" (lines 82-92).

Patent for a new design for a gate that "will prevent the post to which it is hung from being drawn out of line by its weight" (lines 12-14) and will stay open unaided and "automatically lock itself when closed" (line 18) including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved nursing bottle. This design consists in "[t]he combined breast-pump, feeding-tube, nursing-bottle, and nipple-shield, comprising the bottle, the stopper having the openings, the tube, the plug, the flexible tube, and the nipple-shield having the nozzle adapted to be inserted in[to the] opening and attached to the flexible tube" (lines 6-12).

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design "relates to plows; and it consists in certain improvements of construction of the same, having for its object to admit of the adjustment of the heel-bar of the plow with relation to the standard of the same, and also to provide the said heel-bar with an adjustable knife or cutter which shall serve as a rudder to prevent the plow from swerving to either side during operation" (lines 8-16).

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design is "to provide a plow adapted for steady and easy running, capable of combining therewith various styles of shovels or shears, and so constructing said plow as to be readily adjusted to form furrows of varying depths" (lines 9-14). This design consists, "with the beam and the loosely-depending standard provided at its lower end with a shovel, of the angular brace pivoted at its angle to the standard, adjustably connected at its upper end or branch to the beam, and having its lower end adapted to travel along the furrow in rear of the shovel" (lines 7-14).

Patent for a new and improved rack. This design consists in "[t]he rack comprising the sills, the crossed bars secured thereto and to each other at their intersecting parts and forming triangular sides, said crossed bars having the projecting ends, the cross-slats connecting the crossed bars and arranged in the angles thereof, and the extension comprising the inclined bars, the short crossed bars secured at right angles thereto, and the slats connecting the bars at the angles formed thereby, the said bars being detachably bolted to the projecting ends of the inclined bars of the rack" (lines 16-28).
