Patent for an improvement to "shovel-plows" that "is adapted to cultivate between the rows of corn, &c., and one in which the rearwardly-extending moldboards can be adjusted [...] in case the rows are close together or far apart. The cultivator is also arranged so that the depth of the furrow can be regulated" (lines 14-21).

This design consists in "the valve-seat of [the] slide-valve, the entrances of whose steam passages form seats for auxiliary valves pivoted to [the] yoke on a rod, whose stud occupies said slot in upper portion of [the] arm pivoted to [the] pendant from [the] main valve-rod and terminating in [the] tappet, the same being combined with the adjustable stops" (lines 55-63).

Patent for braces and angle bars on vehicle bodies that improves the brace to hold buggy beds together with illustration that shows improvements. "When these braces are secured on the bed they will prevent the adjacent parts of the bed from splitting, spreading or dropping down and they will hold the ends and sides, as well as the bottom of the bed securely in place" (lines 61-66).

Patent for a new and improved mail-bag fastener. This design "is to provide a fastening for mail-bags, which may be quickly manipulated to fasten or unfasten the bag. To this end the invention consists, essentially, of a slide formed with key-hole slots and carried by an overlapping flap, the said slide being adapted to engaged headed studs that are secured to one side of the main portion of the pouch and passed through apertures formed in the other side of the pouch" (lines 7-16).

Patent for a well-boring auger is designed to improve the drilling process by multi-functional features of the auger that can be placed inside of a well-casing to cut a hole or can be used itself to cut through the casing.

Patent for a new and improved stock-collar. This design is "for the purpose of positively and unmistakably identifying cattle and other like stock, and to obviate the necessity of marking and branding cattle, &c., which shall be light, simple, strong, and durable in construction, thoroughly effective for the purposes designed, easily attached to and removed from the necks of cattle, &c., which shall be cheap and inexpensive of manufacture, and not liable to become lost, misplaced, broken, or detached by the animal in its efforts to release itself" (lines 16-26).
