Patent for a new and improved pen holder. This design "relates to improvements in penholders whereby the pen may be automatically discharged or ejected from the holder" (lines 8-11). Patent for a cotton-chopper meant to be the most simply constructed. The hoes are attached to a rotating cylinder in the center of the frame, and the hoes rotating is what chops the cotton.

Patent for a new dog attachment "for logging cars, sleds, and wagons, &c., [...] which will securely retain logs on a car, sled, or wagon and also readily release the same for unloading when required" (lines 9-13), which includes illustrations and instructions.

This design "is to produce a lock and key in which the lock-case has no exterior opening communicating with its wards or works, but is provided with a recess only for supporting the shank or axis of the key, while the only opening for the admission of the key to the interior of the lock, whereby its wards or bolt may be operated or controlled, is upon the interior of the lock-case, so that there is no possibility of introducing . . . picking devices therein, or of introducing any explosive agents" (lines 15-27).
