Patent for a new and improved car-brake. This design consists in "brake-shoes [which] are jointed by pivots to brake-blocks of the usual form, which are suspended from the truck-timbers by suitable suspending links or clevises, so that they may have a free longitudinal movement when acted upon by the actuating mechanism, and said blocks and brake-shoes are separated by transverse brake-bars, in order that they may be kept truly in-line with the car-wheels at all times" (lines 16-25).

Patent for a dental chair improvement.

Patent for "an improvement in extensible wagon-bodies," (lines 8-9) including illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved street-car motor. This design consists in "the shaft geared to an axle of the car, the friction-wheels free to slide on the said shaft and having the annular collars, the rods . . . connected to the said annular collars, and the lever connected to the said rods to move the friction-wheels toward or from each other" (lines 16-22).

Patent for a new and improved fare-box. This design consists in "three resting-places for the fares before they enter the final receptacle or drawer provided at the bottom of the case, and the windows in front are so arranged that the fares may be observed at each change until they enter their final receptacle. All lights of glass employed are held in grooves in the upright sides of the case or in a frame secured in grooves of the said sides, so that by no possibility can they be displaced unless the entire box is taken to pieces" (lines 25-35).

Patent for a new and improved money changer and counter. This design "is to provide novel means for automatically assorting coins of different denominations . . . [and] to provide a series of graded pockets for the reception and retention of different coins of different denominations, and which will receive the coin only of the denomination for which it is provided; to provide novel means for discharging a coin of a given denomination from its pocket in order to make the proper change, and which will only discharge one coin at a time to prevent too much money from being delivered" (lines 15-30).

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design consists in a "hollow hub or sleeve in combination with the universal joint composed of a band fitting loosely within said sleeve, a gimbal-ring pivoted to said band, and a knuckle pivoted to said gimbal-ring, whereby motion may be transmitted from one rotary body to another when the planes of rotation are or are not parallel to each other" (lines 88-95).

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the driving-wheel . . . the rotary mold-board, and the plow-beam, of the universal joint composed of the hollow portion of the hub of the driving-wheel, a ring pivoted thereto, a knuckle pivoted to said ring, and a band encircling the hollow portion of said hub and fixed to the said plow-beam" (lines 6-13).

Patent for a new and improved nutshell-cutting machine. This design consists in "the ring provided with slots, the apertured plate, the cutters inserted in the slots, the set-screws adapted to hold the cutters in the slots, and the follower . . . arranged to force the nut through between the cutters, and means for supporting the cutters in the position of use" (lines 72-80).

Patent for a new and improved gun-barrel cleaner. This design consists in "[t]he combination of a flat shank having a hole in its intermediate portion, a pivot-bolt having its middle round and its ends square, and a cleaning-head secured upon said bolt, said head consisting of two parts, one part being secured upon each end of said bolt" (lines 4-9).

Design patent for a round souvenir badge or medal that has an image of a star on the front with a portrait in the center, and rays emanating toward the outside edge used for text. The back of the medal has an image of the Texas state capitol and spaces for additional text. The design also includes a suspending-bar shaped as a bald eagle with spread wings, holding crossed rifles.
