Patent for new improvement in seed planting that describes parts of the construction including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for "a system of musical notation in which the several notes or note-symbols are shaped so as to approximate in appearance the shape of the letters from which they derive their appellations" (lines 37-41) especially in relation to piano-fortes, organs, and keyed instruments and in teaching music, including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for Spark-Arrester. The author claims his invention catches sparks and throws them to the bottom of the chamber to the discharge pipe. Used in locomotive smoke stacks.

Patent for a new and improved attachment for plows. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the rear of the land-side of a turning plow, of an attachment for dirting the plants, consisting of a shank having a rearwardly and upwardly extending blade diagonally attached thereto, having a sharp curved lower edge and a curved upper edge, said edges forming a point on the outer end of the blade, said blade having a concaved upper face" (lines 7-15).

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design consists, "with the beam and mold-board, of an attachment which is adapted to be secured to either side of the beam in the rear of the mold-board, consisting of a curved standard having its lower end bent up parallel with and part way its vertical length, forming a U-shaped foot, serrations on the rear edges of the foot, and registering perforations formed in the standard and upper end of the bent-up portion, an oblique brace secured between the parallel portions of the standard, having a series of perforations therein" (lines 12-24).

Patent for a new and improved post-hole digger. This design consists in "the combination, with an annular head carrying cutters, of the block or bar, the arms secured at their upper ends to the bar or block and at their opposite ends to the head, the cylinder, and the yielding arms secured at one end to said bar and their opposite ends adapted to engage the upper edge of the cylinder" (lines 34-41).

Patent for "a machine of this class which shall be simple in construction, durable, and effect ive in operation, and which may be easily manipulated" (lines 11-14).

Patent for a compound to remove grease and stains from wood and fabric. Includes instructions.

Patent for an improvement in screens meant to prevent passengers from having to look at horses' hind ends in carriages. It is a rectangle of cloth laced in a frame, which is attached to the thills.

Patent for a new and improved cotton chopper, including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for crate fastening to secure the top firmly but also allow it to be easily removed. It was designed for an egg crate but is applicable to crates in general, including illustrations.

Patent for "a simple and efficient construction of engine including two parallel series of piston-heads and wherein steam will be supplied to the heads of each series alternately" (lines 9-13).

Patent for baling-press which is to "provide a rotary sweep,..., which is connected in a novel manner to the compressing-plunger, whereby said plunger is operated twice to each revolution of the sweep" (lines 12-16). Illustrations included.

Patent for a combined broom and cloth hanger, which allows a broom to be quickly engaged and supported at any desired elevation above the user's floor. It can also be folded against the wall when the broom is not in use, "...whereby the ordinary broom cover...can be conveniently clamped and held securely in position between the lower end of the bracket and against the support by passing the broom cover over and through the rods when the hanger is in a receiving position" (lines 24-30).

Patent for a device which effectively burns "kerosene, gasoline, naphtha or crude oil" (lines15-16) in a bunsen-burner fashion that is also easy to manufacture and cheap to maintain.

Patent for a rack that will separate the grain, straw, and chaff to the fullest extent.
