Tent and Attachment.

Patent for a new and improved tent. This design is "to provide a tent-frame in such a manner that it may be readily folded into small compass, and which when extended for use will be very strong and serviceable" (lines 14-17). To this end, it consists of a cap, "of the rafters pivoted in the walls of said recesses and having their ends formed with a short incline or bevel and a longer or different incline or bevel" (lines 1-4).

This design consists in "the combination, with a sliding-bolt provided with a wedge-plate, of the catch or slide mounted on the bolt and capable of a limited longitudinal movement, and the adjustable bar arranged between the adjacent edges of the wedge-plate and the catch or slide and tapered toward its lower end to fit the edges of the wedge-plate and catch or slide, the said adjustable bar being provided with a stud which operates in a suitable transverse guide-slot, whereby the bar is held from longitudinal movement" (lines 26-37).

Patent for a new and improved door check. This design is "formed of a single strip of sheet metal, comprising a base provided with a hole or holes for fastening the same in position, and one end bent inwardly and upwardly at an angle to said base to form a spring-catch, and the other end bent upwardly at substantially at a right angle to the base and thence downwardly and outwardly to form a fastening-flange, in line with the base, and a brace to strengthen the stop, said flange being provided with holes and the rubber buffers" (lines 70-80).

Water Elevator Chain.

Patent for a new and improved water-elevator chain. This design "has relation to that class of water-elevators in which the buckets are connected to an endless chain formed of wire, the several links being connected to each other by loops or eyes formed thereon; and the object thereof is to improve the construction of this class of wire chains, whereby the bearings for the links are greatly increased and strengthened and the general construction of the chain rendered more durable, also the links more conveniently coupled together or uncoupled without injury thereto" (lines 17-28).
