Patent for a new and improved band-cutting and feeding attachment for thrashing machines. This design receives grain bundles "upon an endless traveling apron provided with teeth or claws, and by it conveyed under rotary cutters, which sever the bands, the grain being then scattered or spread out by a vibrating rake into a thin sheet as it passes to the toothed cylinder. The invention relates more particularly to the construction and arrangement of parts" (paras. 3-4).

Patent for an improvement of car coupling design so as to be automatic so that it can couple and uncouple without needing a person to move from car to car that can be used alongside pin and link couplings (lines 11-16).

Patent for an improved truck for railway carriages that is meant "to construct surface-rollers which have their center of bearing above the center of the traction of surface roller, and which have traction rollers bearing upon the upper portion of the main surface-roller, and upon which the load is supported equally upon two points of the surface or traction roller" (lines 17-23).

Patent for a new and improved ventilating attachment for hearths. This design "consists in extending the ventilating box or casing . . . sufficiently below the floor of the room to the hearth to which it is applied to allow it to project into the room below" (lines 19-23).

Patent for a new and improved cross-tie for railroads. This design consists, "with a plate-metal cross-tie body having inclined sides which are integrally joined at an apex and longitudinally-slotted, forming rail-seats, and integral lips on said apex, of a rod oppositely threaded at its ends, nuts which fit in the cross-tie body and are adapted to engage the right and left hand threads on the ends of the rod, integral lugs formed on the nuts, means to rotate the rod, and means to lock the rod from rotation" (lines 29-39).

Patent for a new and improved rein-holder. This design "has relation to that class of driving rein-holders in which a bracket is employed for attaching to the dash-board of the vehicle, and provided at one end with a standard, to which is pivoted a swinging jaw held down in position to hold the reins by means of a spring coiled around the pivot, the jaw having a convex corrugated face to more securely hold the reins" (lines 16-24).

Patent for a new and improved safety spout for lamps. This design is for an angled tube with a mouth to receive oil and a threaded end to screw onto an oil lamp. This allows for the lamp to be safely refilled while lit.

This design consists in "a roof made up of a series of metallic shingles bent and doubled at the ends . . . and the joint at the sides of the shingle, the doubled ends being bent at the sides to correspond with the joint at the sides of the shingle, whereby a double thickness is provided at the sides of the end joints and notching is obviated" (lines 11-18).
