Patent for improvements in “gas-machines in which the gas is generated from calcium carbid; in which the gas will be thoroughly washed before passing to the distributing-pipe, thus affording a pure white light, and further to provide a means for running off coal-tar that may gather on the top of the water in the machine.” (Lines 9-18) Illustration is included.

Patent for a new and improved auger. This design consists in "[t]he combination of a shank provided with a conveying-screw and the cutters at the lower end of the screw, the sides of the cutters being extended beyond a vertical line drawn across the edges of the screw, and a tube or casing enclosing the screw and connected at its lower end with the cutters, said tube being of less diameter than the cutters and arranged within the outer sides thereof" (lines 56-64).

Patent for an automatic reversing mechanism for cotton presses.

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design consists in a link-guide support "pivoted to the underside of the car, the link-guide pivoted to the front end of the support, the spring arranged between the guide and the support, the yoke secured to the car, and the spring supported by said yoke and bearing against the link-guide support" (lines 1-6).

Patent for a new and improved curtain fastener for carriages. This design is "an improvement upon that particular form of curtain-fasteners . . . in which a sleeve or barrel having a rotary and sliding movement on a spring-encircled shank or post is provided with a wing or projection for effecting the connection of said sleeve or barrel with the eyelet or grommet of the curtain . . . which will effectually prevent the accidental disengagement of the curtain" (lines 18-29).

Patent for "a truck having operating mechanism changeable to either cotton or corn seeders and in combination therewith a hopper formed in sections, one of which is removable" (lines 14-17).

Patent for "an implement for cutting and removing the corn shuck or husk from the ear of corn more rapidly than any machine in the market. The invention consists of a table having in the middle of the top a longitudinal recess wit grooves on its sides, in which by means of pressing down a treadle a horizontal knife-blade slides to and fro. This knife-blade carries on its upper side a pair of movable clamps for holding an ear of corn in its place against an upright standard which is fastened on top of a stationary knife-blade." Patent for a gun-barrel cleaner unique in that it cleans and oils. It also provides an adjustable handle-stop which avoids damage to muzzle end of shotgun by inexperienced users. Adjustable in order to clean different gauges.

Patent for "new and useful improvements on machinery for thrashing various kinds of grain, whereby the work is performed in a very rapid and perfect manner, without impairing the straw." (lines 28-32) Instructions and illustrations are included.
