Patent for a rotary gate that has latch-posts and spring-latches at its ends. The spring-latches are designed to employ the latches. "Levers fulcrumed on the top of the gate and connected with each other, connecting-rods connecting said levers with the spring-latches, and vibratory braces rising from the sides of the gate and secured to said levers" (lines 33-37).

Patent for a gate that relates to a patent (no. 363,964) granted to the inventor, which is a gate opener that operates by pulling a chord connected to a mechanism that swings the gate open and closes upon release. The current patent simplifies the previous invention. The operator pulls a chord which makes the gate swivel on a central point. When the chord is released, the gate swivels back into place.

Patent for a hame attachment, used in the collar of a draft horse, that is simple in construction and operation and can be produced for little cost. The attachment would prevent wear of lines and keep them in place at the same time.

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design "comprises a draw-head slotted from top to bottom, and having at its forward end an incline, a peculiar latch to engage automatically with the slot in the draw-head, a pivoted weight for holding the latch in position, and a lever pivoted in the draw-head and operated from the outside for throwing up the latch and uncoupling the car" (lines 15-22).

Patent for improving the cultivator-plow by providing "a standard of novel construction comprising a stationary member bolted to the beam and a foot member having a pivotal relation with said stationary member and capable of being adjusted as to its angle, and also capable of yielding backwardly when the shovel meets with an obstruction for the purpose of preventing the fracture or twisting of said standard." Patent for a pneumatic suction that draws cotton in to be separated, suctioned down a trough to be distributed and fed into a gin.

Patent for a new and improved planter. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the rear of beam, the notched cleat, the handle cross-bar, and the hooks, whereby the hopper may be conveniently attached and detached . . . [and] [t]he pivoted gates, having extensions with a series of holes, with the hopper-bottom plate having holes besides the regular seed-outlet, and the pins" (lines 64-72).

Patent for a new and improved cotton-press. This design "is to so construct a press that the force shall be applied solely by the pulling action of the screw, and so that the cotton can be put in at the top of the box and compressed without the usual tramping of the same therein by an operative preparatory to applying the force of the press, thereby doing away with a door or opening near the top of the box for inserting the cotton, and dispensing with the tramping operation" (lines 32-42).
