Patent for a device which acts as "a simple and relatively inexpensive apparatus by means of which a camera shutter may be operated either for snapshots or time exposures, from a point at a distance from the camera so that the operator may be included in the photograph and yet be able to absolutely control the time and duration of the exposure" (lines 10-17).
