Car for Pneumatic Railways.

Patent for a car for pneumatic railways meant to "provide a car especially adapted for the [air-]tube, the same being constructed with track-wheels in the central line of the cars" (lines 12-15). It is also "a double car divided lengthwise centrally by a partition-wall, through which communication may be had between a car-section - that is, between the double car within the same - and to provide each end portion of this double car with a door" (lines 17-22). There are two track-wheels above the below the car and one above.

Patent for "a machine especially adapted for cleaning cotton and distributing the same to one or more gins; and it has for its object to so construct the machine that it will receive the cotton from the usual suction-pipe or equivalent supply, will clean the cotton, shred or separate the same and deliver it to a carrier, which in its turn will distribute the cotton to the hoppers of one or more gins, the distribution being evenly and expeditiously accomplished; and a further object of the invention is to provide for a steady feed of the cotton at the delivery end of the carrier, said device effectually preventing choking at that point." This design consists in "the combination of a caster having an elongated stem provided with upper and lower annular supporting-shoulders, a poison-receptacle having a central opening in its bottom to receive the stem and provided with a central vertical tube having a top provided with an opening receiving the stem, said receptacle being supported by the lower shoulder, and a concavo-convex shield supported by the upper shoulder and arranged over the mouth of the receptacle and provided with a filling-orifice and having a pivoted cover" (lines 82-93).

The butter is churned by pumping a lever, which is connected to a strap that is wrapped around a rod, the rod goes into the container holding the cream and has hoops attached to it inside the container, and the pumping action makes the hoops quickly move back and forth.

Patent for a new and useful safety attachment “for the pedals of bicycles, tricycles, and other wheeled vehicles operated by the feet through the medium of pedals.” (Lines 9-11) This attachment will form a long bearing for the foot of the rider, thus avoiding dead-centers in the revolutions of the cranks, and to provide means for preventing any slipping of the pedals.” (Lines 12-16) Illustration is included.
