Patent for "a bridle of novel construction for training and taming horses; and it consists in the combination of brace and guide-reins, neck and crupper straps, sureingle, and collar." (Lines 12-16) Includes instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved horse carriage. This design calls for "the rider [to] press the treadles so as to hold the wheels in contact with the ground. When sufficient speed has been acquired the treadles are released, and the springs will then raise the wheels from contact with the ground, and the momentum will then be sufficient to keep the wheel erect. Should it be inclined to tilt, it may easily be righted by pressing either treadle so as to throw the wheel on the tilting side in contact with the ground" (lines 61-74).

Patent for a new and improved tail piece for violins. This design "has for its object to raise or lower the pitch of the strings simultaneously, when required" (lines 10-12).

Patent for a harness-pad hook meant to attach the pad to the harness for gig-saddles. The hook "will be capable of adjustment to suit the size of the gig-saddle with which it is used, to the end that the hooks may be manufactured after all the same pattern" (lines 14-18). The hook won't damage the gig-saddle and the hook has finger-grasps.

Patent for a new and improved railroad spike. This design consists in "[a] spike for securing a railroad-rail, having a lower portion, having a shoulder, and a right-angular arm for resting against the base-flange of a rail, and the arm or extension" (lines 60-64).

Patent for shoe-paste applier by using “cotton or cloth, wound into a roll to make the paste-applying element.” (Lines 65-66) “A holding member having terminal arms held associated by being twisted together and a curved intermediated coiled portion to house the paste-applying element, and a handle for receiving the twisted portions of the arms.” (Lines 15-19) Illustration is included.
