Patent for a new and improved funnel. This design "relates to improvements in funnels for transferring molasses and other thick liquid and substances from one receptacle into bottles, jars, and other vessels; and the objects of [the] improvements are to provide a funnel with means for securing it to a table, counter, &c.; to provide said funnel with means for forcing a liquid therethrough and the forcing apparatus with a detachable spout thereunder" (lines 10-19).

Patent for a device which holds both string and bags, with description of construction, parts, and use, and with illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved coupling for railroad cars. This design consists in "[t]he combination . . . of the laterally and vertically movable draw-head having the hook at its outer end, the keeper depending from the lower side of the car, and in which the draw-head is confined, the spring connected to one side of the draw-head and bearing thereon, and the arm pivoted in a slot in the draw-head, and having the head projecting in rear of the lip or shoulder of the hook, and the lever fulcrumed to the end of the car and connected to the car" (lines 87-97).

Patent for a new and improved funnel attachment for pouring. This design consists in "[t]he combination of the supporting frame, a shaft journaled in the frame, a crank for rotating the shaft and carried by the frame, and a screw-conveyer carried by the shaft and having the smaller blades and the larger blade arranged above the [smaller] blades, and bearing against the funnel above the conducting tube thereof when the device is adjusted in the funnel" (lines 52-60).

Patent for a new and improved coffee pot. This design consists in "tubes having their upper ends bent downward, a bridge or cross-piece connecting their upper ends, the suspending-rods depending from the bridge, the ring on the lower ends of the suspending-rods, the [other] ring, and the separate strainer held removably between the two said rings" (lines 84-90).

Patent for a new and improved box-car door fastener and spark arrester. This design consists in "the door, the screws extending therefrom, the strips having the inclined slots received on the screws, and provided with the projections, the lever pivoted on the screws outside the strip, stops on the lever to engage the projections, and means--such as cord--for locking the lever" (lines 4-11).

Patent for a new and improved wire stretcher. This design consists in "[t]he combination of a fence-post, the coupled pulleys mounted thereon and adapted to be simultaneously rotated, independent fence-wires extending in opposite directions and attached to one of the pulleys at points thereon that are arranged close together, and binding-sleeves for preventing the rotation of the pulleys after the wires have been stretched" (lines 14-21).

Patent for a new and improved lock-box. This design "is provided with means for giving an alarm when an attempt is made to enter the same; and it also has a device for clamping it to the berth or other part of the apartment in which the traveler lodges, so that when the alarm sounds he [or she] is awakened, and thus notified at an attempt at robbery. The device is especially adapted to be clamped to the inner-face of a bed-rail, adjacent to the mattress thereof, so that it cannot be reached without awakening the traveler" (lines 21-31).

Patent for a new and improved support for coffee grinders. This design consists in "the combination of the base having the socket and the projecting bracket-lug provided with the binding-screw, and the standard adapted to carry the mill and removably fitted in the bracket-lug and held therein by the screw" (lines 8-13).

Patent for a new and improved collapse-able desk. This design consists in "a top and base arranged . . . one above the other, an intermediate connection inclining from a vertical line, having a portion of the front side, near the upper end, in contact with the rear edge of the top, forming a rest or stop for said top, and a portion of the rear side, near the opposite end, in contact with the front edge of the base, which latter forms a rest or stop for the lower end of the section, and brackets . . . connecting the top and base with the upper and lower portions of said intermediate connection" (lines 23-35).

Patent for a new and improved flexible scraper. This design "consist[s] of the concave board, the sheet of rubber secured by bolts to the concave face of the board, the handle, the sockets secured to the convex face of the board and handle, respectively, and the braces" (lines 52-57).
