Patent for adjusting devices for compressing rolls which “employed for compressing into a continuous thin sheet cotton fiber; and the objects in view are to provide a simple and convenient means for binding the rolls in contact, and when so bound to prevent any undesired yielding.” (Lines 10-15) Illustration is included.

Patent for improvements in blind-slat adjusters and locks by providing a plate to secure the cross-stile of the blind; in which the plate having a slotted right-angled portion. “A bar pivoted to the slat-rod and having its lower end bent at the right angle, a screw passed through the slat and provided with a handle. (Lines 96-99) “When the handle is turned to the left, the slats can be adjusted into any desired position, and when in their adjusted position all that it is necessary to do is to turn the handle to the right which binds the parts together and holds the slats against movement.” (Lines 82-87) Illustration is included.

Patent for improvements in portable “type-distributing device which can be comfortably held in the hand and without strain on the wrist, and which is provided with a suitable main receptacle to hold the matter being distributed and also with auxiliary receptacles for leads and spaces, whereby the labor of distributing is greatly facilitated and lessened and the work much more rapidly accomplished.” (Lines 26-34) Includes illustration.

Patent for improvements in fire-escapes “in which a rope forming part of the device, has its upper end attached within a window or other opening of a building and is connected with apparatus to raise and lower an ascending fireman or other person escaping from the building.” (Lines 16-21) Illustration is included.

Patent for an improvement in strap and buckle shields by having a flat elongated plate which has a longitudinally slot in the center. This shield can be movebly secured on to the strap to admit the tongue of a buckle thus the cross-bar of the buckle will rest upon the shield. By having this shield, the strap is protected from wear that would result from a direct contact with the buckle. Illustration is included.

Patent for "a globe adapted to serve simply for the purpose of illumination and furnishing a pure white bright light for general purposes, or to serve as an illuminated show-globe for druggists," (lines 10-14) including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for improvements in imposition-furniture for printers’ use; in this “improved furniture, the page can be removed with the cord tied around it and set aside for future use and the improved pieces of furniture used around another and different page of type and so on indefinitely. It is made to serve the purpose of an almost endless set of furniture-pieces of that style of furniture border-piece where the groove is formed on the outside of furniture border-pieces and the tying-cord is fitted in said groove and made to serve for tying up both the furniture border-pieces and the page.” (Lines 22-34) Illustration is included.

Patent for a new and improved net for fishing and crabbing by using a trigger device that would automatically open the net’s “free end” fully and horizontally when the net is lowered on the bed floor of the river. After use, the net can be folded very compactly for easy transport. Illustration is included.

Patent for a method of baling cotton. The cotton is taken direct from the gin, condensed, compressed progressively into a thin sheet of suitable density, and baled, the bale being formed previous to the expansion of the fiber.
