Patent for "a clutch wherein the members composing the clutch are adapted to transmit motion from one to the other by frictional engagement thereof " (lines 12-15) including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved mobile bookcase. This design is "composed of a base-piece having a longitudinally-central raised table-piece adapted to support the leaves of the book, and a depressed-ledge portion outside thereof adapted to support the cover of the book" (lines 20-25).

Patent for an apparatus for handling lint-cotton that allows air to move freely without back pressure while putting the fiber into a bat. It has a "trunk into which a series of gins deliver, of a primary condenser having a high surface speed, so that it will rapidly remove the fiber and prevent the bat from building up of such thickness as to check the escape of air, and a second condenser having a slower surface speed and arranged to receive the lint from the first condenser and form it into a thicker bat" (lines 29-37).

Patent for a new and improved locking pawl for anchor chains. This design is "to provide a novel combination of parts whereby the rising and falling and horizontally-moving clamping-block can be rigidly locked in its engagement with the cable to stop the latter; also, to provide novel means for protecting the wood-work of the vessel from wear as the cable is moved" (lines 13-19).

Patent for "a machine for separating the valuable fibrous portions of the stems of the plants of the jute, ramie, flax, and hemp, and like varieties from refuse matter and preparing the same for use with the least possible injury and waste" (lines 10-15).

Patent for a new and improved wheeled vehicle. This design consists in "[a] one-wheeled sulky in which are combined the single wheel, the frame, the thills, the seat, the standards, and the rods or braces" (lines 54-57).

Patent for "a mixture of the arseniate of soda and water, or arseniate of soda, dextrine, and water, prepared in certain proportions of the respective ingredients, for the purpose of destroying cotton-worms." (Lines 7-12) Includes instructions and illustrations.

Patent for an improved cotton and hay press that "... provides an economical and powerful press for cotton, hay, rags, &c., that may be worked by hand, horse, or steam power, in field, farm or factory." (lines 12-15) Includes description and illustration.

Patent for a new and improved sash holder. This design "consists in supplying the sash with two spring-actuated cams—one upon each side—which cams in their normal condition press against the frame and hold the sash, but are simultaneously withdrawn and held out of contact with the frame by the partial rotation of a cylindrical operating-handle, with which the cams are connected by suitable rods, said handle also furnishing the means by which the sash is raised and lowered" (lines 41-50).

Patent for a rail joint that consists of a chair with a base plate and inwardly projecting flanges, a rail web, two plates that hook under the flanges and hold the rail in place, and two bolts that go through the plates and the rail.

Patent for a rail fastening, which prevents spreading of the rails and tilts them slightly inward.

Patent for a new and improved mattress making machine. This design calls for a box with a hinged door and gauges that adjust the box to the desired width for mattress making. Additionally, slats at the bottom of the box and along the inside of the hinged lid have straps and pins that one uses to bind the mattress material after it fills the box.
