Patent for a Bicycle-Gear meant to rotate the sprocket or other gear wheel on a bicycle, Including Illustrations.

Patent for a method of compressing and baling cotton in which cotton is condensed into sheets and is then compressed and delivered to a lapping mechanism which builds up a bale from the compressed sheets, including illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved carpenter's square. This design calls for ribs or ridges running lengthwise along the blades and a thicker, more durable square between the blades. In this way, only the ribs or ridges suffer wear, and the square lasts longer.

Patent for a spring "wherein all of the parts are removably connected to each other so as to be convenient and inexpensive to repair." (Line 11-14)

Patent for a new and improved walker for children. This design "is to facilitate placing the child, and to avoid any risk of injury, and, further, to make the stool easy for the body and arms of the child" (lines 13-16). This end is achieved with a hinged section of the walking ring, which may be opened to allow in the child.

Patent for a new and improved cutting machine for grain stalks. This design consists in a "table slotted in its middle part and slotted and recessed at or near one edge, the parallel endless bundle-carrying chains working in said slots and having arms, the chain-wheels, the shafts thereof and their supports, the circular saw in the recess at the edge of the table, the mandrel and the gage-plate" (lines 98-105).

Patent for an apparatus that consists of "a series of metal bars to be inserted between what is known as the 'channel bars or teeth,' both on the upper and lower platens of a compress used for compressing cotton-bales, which bars thus inserted shall be so attached to the channel-bars that, by the force of springs, the said bars will be kept below the surface of the teeth on the platens, allowing ample space to insert the iron bands to be used in tying the bales, in the same manner as they are now universally inserted." Patent for rail-joints that are a "firm and secure support for the abutting ends of rails to maintain their treads in the same horizontal plane and prevent them from being mashed down at the ends" (lines 13-17). This makes train passengers more comfortable and lengthens the rail's and the fish-plates' lives, and makes fish-plates more stable.
