Trace Carrier.
Patent for a new and improved trace-carrier. This design consists "of a frame having a bar extending thereacross with integral arms at right angles thereto, having outwardly turned sharpened ends to form a means of attachment, and a carrier proper depending from said frame and consisting of an elongated loop and an upper eye having the juncture of the two extended inward to form a projection to narrow the opening between said loop and eye, the parts of said carrier proper being of integral rigid structure" (lines 78-88).

Cotton Gin Attachment.
Patent for a new attachment for cotton gins. This design consists in "[t]he combination, in a cotton-gin, of the carrier, feed-roller, having teeth or projections, and the adjustable sliding rake . . . [and] the combination of the carriers, the latter having covering, receiver, toothed feed-roller, adjustable rake, gin-saws, and brush" (lines 68-75).
