Patent for "a new and useful Improvements in the Construction of Privy-Vaults and Apparatus for Use Therewith"(lines 4-6)" to insure cleanliness in around privy-vaults and to prevent accumulations therein, especially in localities where water is not easily available"(lines 9-12), instructions and illustrations included.

Patent for the construction of an improved odorless apparatus for dry out-houses, including explications and illustrations.

Patent for "a new and useful improvement in boxes for washing aggregate or rough material for making concrete" (lines 5-7), including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved vehicle. This design "is to provide a vehicle in which a person can ride over rough ground without serious inconvenience or discomfort incident to travel over such roads. . . . [and] to so construct a gig that a person can get into the same without serious inconvenience, and to this end it is made low, the rear of the shafts being extended in line with the axle and the step secured to the shaft and extending somewhat below it. . . . [and] to provide a gig with springs that will work in two directions—laterally and vertically" (lines 20-34).

Patent for a new ratchet-wrench with "improved construction and combination of parts" (lines 26-27), including illustrations.

Patent for tools to create uniform concrete pieces and angles, with description of use and improvements and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved stamp canceler. This design "is to provide a . . . stamp-canceler, which is so constructed that it punctures or perforates the stamp and inks it at the same time, but does not mutilate the letter or other contents of the envelope" (lines 7-12).

Patent for a new and improved press. This design "consists in compressing-rollers placed in suitable bearings, so as to coincide with an inlet-channel which receives and guides the fibrous substance to be baled into the baling-box of a press after the compressing-rollers have given it a preparatory pressing" (lines 10-16).

Patent for a new and improved steam vacuum-pump. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with a pump-cylinder, the water inlet and outlet pipes, a condenser-pipe, a steam-pipe, and valves located in the several pipes, of a vertically-movable rod having stops thereon, levers connecting the rod with the valves in the condenser-pipe and steam-inlet pipe, and a float loosely mounted on the rod and adapted to actuate the same" (lines 62-70).

Patent for a new and improved nut lock. This design consists in "[a] lock . . . for a nut having a non-circular recess in its rear face, consisting of a washer having a non-circular opening whereby it may be keyed upon a bolt and fitted to enter the non-circular recess of a nut, and a securing-plate having an opening fitted to receive the locking-washer" (lines 81-87).

Patent for a new and improved gate. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with a swinging gate provided with a rearwardly-extending arm and a pivoted latch, of a crank-shaft journaled in said gate and connected to said latch, and an operating mechanism consisting of pivoted arms on supporting posts, rods or wires provided with loops and connecting the arms, one loop engaging with the rearward gate-arm and the other loop with the crank-shaft, and levers operating to give a longitudinal movement to the wires" (lines 65-75).

Patent for the improvements of ice machine gas compressors and its adjuncts.

Patent for a new and improved ice machine. This design consists in "[a]n oil-trap for compression ice-machines, consisting of cylinders provided with inclined diaphragms, and having extensions provided with water-chambers and pipes extending down through the same" (lines 96-100). Said pipes are "to communicate with the cylinders, one of said pipes communicating with the extension of one of the cylinders and the other pipe leading from the ammonia-pump, said cylinders having a suitable arrangement of pipes and valves" (lines 1-6).

Patent for a new and improved refrigerator. This design "relates to that class of refrigerating or ice-making machinery wherein a liquefiable gas . . . is introduced into a compression-pump and is compressed to a state of liquefaction, the pressure being subsequently removed, the liquefied refrigerating agent expands with rapidity . . . and, the frigorific' effects produced by the volatile liquid again assuming its gaseous state, is utilized for absorption of heat; and the invention consists in certain improvements in the construction of the gas-compressor and its adjuncts" (lines 10-23).

Patent for a safety oil can. There are two items that are described in the figures. The first is intended to "prevent the contents of the can from becoming inflamed" and the second is to "provide a can from which oil may be poured into a blazing fire without danger from lighting and exploding the oil" (p. 6).
