Pressure Regulator for Fermented Liquids.

Patent for a new and improved pressure regulator for fermented liquids. This design "has for its object to provide an improved automatic hydraulic apparatus for supplying compressed air to kegs or casks containing fermented liquids, to replace the vacuum caused by drawing off a portion of the said liquid, and thus to maintain a uniform pressure in such vessels as long as any portion of their contents remain to be drawn therefrom" (lines 8-15).

Method of and Apparatus for the Construction of Concrete Abutments, Bridge Piers, &c.

Patent for a new and improved method of making béton concrete. This design "consists of a method of building piers and abutments in a monolithic character of cement, sand, and broken stone or gravel, called 'béton concrete,' by laying the same in sectional molds contrived to add successive sections to the molds as the height of the structure increases, the molds being supported against the lateral pressure upon the sides by rods passing through the structure, and being removable when the material solidifies" (lines 8-18).
